Here's another thought, spoilers for the ending: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}I know time lord names are traditionally always titles or forms of adress, Doctor, Master, Monk, Valeyard, President and so on... but technically "Missy" is also a word used to adress someone, although very informal. And we know for a fact the time lords are back, so... {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Missy=Mistress=Master? {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Would be a good way to test the waters for a female Doctor.

I liked it
I loved the whole did he push him or did he jump thing. I hope they never answer that and leave the possibility (as remote it is) that he pushed him there
Add me to the list of Scots who couldn't even understand Capaldi ha though I also think it was just the volume he spoke at
When Madame Vastra was talking to Jenny about not liking the Doctor due to not being her young lover I took that as a big FU to those female fans who complained about Capaldi being old
Never tire of Strax either

I was kind of half and half on this one, but with the caveat that I think it'll lead to greater things. My main problem was the utter lack of consistency with Clara. with Name Of The Doctor, we were shown that she'd seen all of the Doctor's incarnations and was well aware about regeneration. She'd seen the Doctor as an old man, and got on with him perfectly fine. But all of a sudden, she's reacting like Rose did when she was completely taken aback by the concept of regeneration. It seemed an awkward way to shoehorn in drama, and Clara's had enough problems with consistent characterisation without piling more on. And Moffat took the "person you most esteem" thing from Hide and turned it into this apparently all-defining character trait that was never actually written into 95% of her stories beforehand. But she did have some positives too, I liked her using her experiences as a teacher to her benefit, making it more than a background detail, and how she pushed the villain's buttons in that whole conversation. Once it got into that territory, she shone as a character, and hopefully there'll be more of that in future episodes than "mopey egomaniac". I enjoy Jenna Coleman as an actress, and I hope we get some fun interactions between her and Capaldi now that Clara isn't a 'mystery' and neither is the new Doctor. Capaldi's Doctor is excellent, quite different from the other New Who Doctors. Rather... Mercurial might be the best word, flowing between different moods where Matt Smith was more of an all-angry or all-happy character. I feel like his leaving Clara behind is going to be the 'strangling Peri' moment everyone's going to flash up when talking about the idea of a darker Doctor in terrible soundbyte documentaries! Loved the new theme, minimalist electronic take seeming a bit more like the Radiophonic Workshop of old. After multiple themes building on the same basic premise, it's nice to shake things up, and same with the clockwork credits rather than just a new vortex each time! Oh, and hooray, we've got another flirty female character who calls the Doctor her boyfriend. Haven't been enough of those in Moffat's run. I took it as Clara wasn't bothered so much by regeneration as much as she was with the Doctor being non hot and older, which does work, with only 1 or 2 exceptions, the Doctor tends to get younger with each regeneration. I actually liked Clara in this episode, it tried to give her an actual character, something beyond "she's special because she's special".

"i used to have alot of round things..."
I really enjoyed this episode alot, a nice first episode of the new doctor and i really really enjoyed Capaldi. I believe he will go down as one of my all time favorites after his run is eventually over (hopefully not for a good long while) I liked him having a bit of a 3rd doctor vibe to him and that ending was enjoyable too. Cant wait until next week now!!
also planning on making his coat in the future once i finish 6th and then 8ths its on to his!

I sadly missed the episode last week so this week was my first experience with Capaldi. Verdict? He's awesome.

This series is off to a solid start with the first two episodes, Peter Capaldi has been everything I hoped for with his portrayal of the Doctor so far.

Great episode. I really hope Rusty appears again at some point.
Wonder were the Missy stuff is going. There's something sinister about her, I'll have a guess she's gathering people killed because of The Doctor to brainwash and use against him in some way.

It's honestly a bit amusing how often Daleks seem to point out to the Doctor that he would be a very good Dalek, considering how full of hate he is towards them. Whereas the Ninth Doctor was compared to a Dalek out of an attempt to piss him off, in this case, it almost came across as a "compliment"... and being told you're so full of hate that you'd fit in with a race of hate-filled monsters is only really a compliment if you're a hate-filled monster.
I am absolutely loving Capaldi.

Love Capaldi, not a fan of the episode. It was just Dalek from the Ecclestone run. Again.

I really like where they are going with Capaldi's Doctor so far. Very intense, very dark, but he's also aware of that and he HATES it. If every regeneration is a reaction to the last one, then this Doctor seems to be trying to protect himself from getting hurt.
The eleventh (or tenth depending on whether you wanna count John Hurt or not) died all alone in his TARDIS after he had met and lost a whole slew of people. As a result the twelth was more clingy, he was kneedeep in humanity, not just from his companions, one of which he even eventually married, but he also died in a town of humans, caring and protecting. Thirteen on the surface is cantakerous and confrontational and bossy, maybe because he's just grown bitter over the pointlessness of it all, or maybe he hates himself because despite everything he does he still can't be sure if he's a actually good man.

Doctor Who needs to cast people who were on Spaced more often. I wish Simon Pegg had been given a bigger role, loved him as the Editor, make him some recurring middleman for various big bads like Weyoun in DS9 but with no loyalty.
