Altuve hit his 200th for the Season. Currently has 200 Hits, 41 2B and 52 SB. He is in very elite club right now, and still time to improve.

THANK YOU! Glad I'm not alone here. Can we also agree that Joe Maddon is overrated as a manager? *looks at your avatar* No. No we cannot. Since going to the World Series in 2008, Maddon has managed to repeatedly get his team to the playoffs and has had 90+ wins in each of those seasons except 2009 and 2014. Not bad for a guy coaching for a team that's cheap as hell. Those numbers are impressive, but I think most people seem to ignore the work of Tampa's scouts and GM for always finding terrific talents to put out on the field. To be fair, Maddon has to manage those guys, which I admit he does well. Look, I'm not saying he's a hack. I just don't think his this baseball genuis, either. People can gush about his use of the shift and his unorthodox way of relating to his young players, but at the end of the day, he hasn't won the big one yet and fair or not, that *is* a measuring stick

Are the White Sox seriously about to take 3 out of 4 from the A's?

Are the White Sox seriously about to take 3 out of 4 from the A's? A loss today would (I believe) make Oakland 12-20 since the Lester trade. How does that even happen?

I guess Beane forgot his team has to outscore their opponents to win games. BTW, some epic scheduling from MLB this weekend: 4 game set between the Orioles and Yankees. The Orioles' magic number is 8, a sweep and they win their first AL East crown since 1997. Oakland vs. Seattle - Seattle is 2 games behind Oakland and a half game behind Detroit for the wild card spot. You can make the argument this 3 game set will decide if Seattle goes to the playoffs or not. Seattle then has an 11 game road trip, @angels for 4, @houston (who just took 2 out of 3 from them) and @ Toronto for 4. Kansas City has Boston, then the White Sox, then Detroit and Cleveland for 3 games a piece. Detroit and Cleveland square off. So while the Royals have 6 games against sub .500 teams, Detroit has to play Cleveland and try to pull away from Oakland. Cleveland is probably done as well if they can't win 2 out of 3. This is just the AL...in the NL, the Pirates have the Red Sox and Cubs so they can strengthen their wild card lead. St. Louis has the Rockies, while the Reds who just swept the Cardinals have a 3 game set against Milwaukee who is still trying to grab a playoff spot. The Giants have a 3 game set against the Dodgers, and the Giants are 2.5 back from LA. Edit: I wouldn't be shocked if the wild card race is more or less sorted out by the end of next week.

First Chris Young breaks up the no-no, then he hits the walk-off HR. I think he's gonna be a big factor this September.

I remember a bunch of us were wondering what led to Ron Washington suddenly resigning as Rangers manager. It looks as if we may have found a reason why Same word has been going around the local scene on this. Have heard from others in the area the popular rumor has been that he hired an attorney the day his resignation was announced. What a mess of a season for Texas. God damn. This 'Jamie Kelly' who broke the news had better be right about this, otherwise she will be out of a job. I'm skeptical, though. She has absolutely no facts to back this up

This was on the MLB website. Is THAT the level of shop skills they have?? It looks like it was done in MSPaint 12 years ago.

So the Umps really messed up during the Brewers/Marlins game. Fier hit Stanton, then the next guy up is Reid Johnson who gets hit in the hand before swinging, the umps say he swung (which he did after getting hit) and call it a strikeout. Which causes the Marlins to absolutely lose their shit.

A 25 game suspension means he tested positive once already which meant more tests. So to recap:
1. Forgot to turn in his exemption. 2. Failed the 1st test which means he will be tested further. 3. Failed a 2nd test.
Call him a cheat, I call him a dumbass.
