God, it really is just one L after another for Gabe at this point. Like watching somebody fall off a big tree and hit every branch on the way down. Considering how long this has been going on, how tall is the tree Gabe's fallen from?! I would imagine he was pretty damned high up due to his original RoH stuff...

He's been falling for...over 7 years through some repetitive and emptying void? It's like the 2001: A Space Odyssey scene but more scummy and pointless.

If you told me 8-10 years ago that I'd be rolling my eyes at Gabe, I'd roll my eyes at you!

If you told me 8-10 years ago that I'd be rolling my eyes at Gabe, I'd roll my eyes at you! Gabe is still insanely bitter about how he left ROH. The other issue is that of the big indy feds, Gabe doesn't have the pull he used to as he burnt a lot of bridges with the top guys now when they were just coming up.

That's probably the most humorous thing about this whole ordeal. Gabe had his "crew" and acted like they'd never leave if given an offer from a bigger company, so he acted like the king jock and treated some of the newer talent like crap. Either not giving them a real chance or, in some cases, flat out blasting them openly. Well...now all his darlings are gone, they've been signed up and those new kids he picked on are now the new standard bearers for his scene, and they haven't forgotten how he treated them. One could argue part of his fall is karma. I'd say though that the entire thing is hubris on his part.

Yep and I'm not one to really bash Gabe but one of the guys he trashed was Masada and he is a guy a lot of the Texas wrestlers listen to. I know from listening to some wrestlers Gabe tends to be pretty cheap with a lot of talent and it rubs a few guys the wrong way.

After the reboot, EVOLVE will be known as INTELLIGENT DESIGN and all DVDs of earlier footage will be treated with skepticism. The shows will rehash the 'powers that be angle' where a mysterious unseen figure tells everyone what to do, decides who gets what gimmick and who gets to be in title matches ahead of time and does so on camera.

Just fold everything into Evolve. Make it the main show and when Dragon Gate guys come over, hype the f*** out of the shows as Evolve Presents: Dragon Gate USA. No silly, contrived gimmicks. Just wrestling. Gabe could probably start running monthly shows to keep interest in the product and not be at the mercy of *possibly* getting one or two DG guys.

Karma is definitely a bitch, f*** those idiotic indy contracts, because of their shitty war, the guys have less places to work in, it would've been cool to have Gargano and Ricochet, amongst others on ROH, yeah they work with ROH guys in PWG, but its only once a month, without any angles.

Ugh. The problem with this records approach is Gabe wanting to have his cake and eat it too (A phrase that makes no sense to me, but you know what I mean). He wants us to pretend like records matter but doesn't want to have to be trapped by having to give everybody a certain amount of wins to do it. Either go all out or abandon it. This is hardly the problem with Evolve/DGUSA though. The promotions feel totally lifeless in a ton of ways. MAJOR overhauls are needed, and honestly I think they're just too far gone. I honestly think the WWN promotions should just be merged under one banner. One company with one name and one set of champions. I've been saying this. Just unify the titles and drop the DGUSA name. If you book DG guys great, but then you don't get pigeonheld by the storylines and factions of the main Dragon Gate promotion.

Upcoming stuff:
I bought some front row tix to the Saturday show in San Jose because they rarely come out to the West coast so I figured why not. Uhaa&Ricochet vs Roddy & Aries should be great and I'm excited to see PJ Black outside of WWE. And of course seeing AR Fox do crazy shit is always a good time.

so a last minute decision, PJ Black will be making his EVOLVE debut tomorrow. Would not be shocked if he rebuilds his stock quickly like Trent and Drew have

Between this and his PWG booking, is Tommy End looking for a full on run in the States? I'd be highly interested in seeing one of the major indies get behind him.
Also, it definitely looks like Black is going to get booked just like Trent? and Brian Myers.
As far as Drew Galloway is concerned, does he have a deal where he can work indie shows while working for TNA or is he going to be dropping his strap soon?

I decided to go to the show tonight. I haven't been to an EVOLVE or DGUSA show in a while. The card looks really good, so I'm excited.

TNA wrestlers are allowed to work for any indy that isn't ROH or Lucha Underground.
