That sucks. But this is also the reason that they can't wait around to push Reigns or whoever else. You can't hold a spot for a dude when you have no clue when he'll be back. So Reigns is going to turn heel, win the title at TLC and end up walking Brie Bella's dog in the buildup to his WM title defense against Rumble winner Bryan?

Damn, what if this ends up being like Shawn Michaels, he takes 4 years or so off and comes back better than ever. He has the advantage of being younger than Shawn was in '98, correct? Nope, he's a few months older now than Shawn was in '98.

Hey, if that means there's a possibility of Ambrose v EC3, then I'm down. Jesus, you took this in a completely different direction. Bottom line is, Triple H was in the same situation Daniel Bryan is in now, and they booked him to return, win the Rumble, and win the WWE title, so WWE should let Bryan do the same, especially since, arguably, he'd be more over than Triple H was at the time.

Jesus, you took this in a completely different direction. What can I say? I don't fantasy-book much these days, but when I do, I go all-in. But, yeah... If he's fully fit by the Rumble, then that comeback Rumble and title win angle should be on the table as a possibility.

I honestly think if he retires, I would be completely fine with it. He's had an amazing career in my mind, hell I thought he'd be a midcarder or Ryder/Gabriel's level right now. Also least he can hold claim to a HoF spot and monster return pop whenever he shows up.

I really want to see him return, but there's no point if he's going to risk screwing himself up worse coming back. I can't spare a thought for any kind of return show or card placement when there's a fair chance this could be it for him. Pro wrestlers work with and through a lot of niggling injuries, but sometimes something comes along (usually from accumulation) that is very major and has to be treated right.
His own physical wellbeing is the absolute top priority.

This is horrible. I hope he makes a full recovery and takes all the time off he needs. It just makes me incredibly sad because he worked so hard to get to the top and he didn't get a chance to enjoy it.

A quad ain't a neck. Let alone neck, shoulder, arm& whatever else. He may not come back at this point

Honestly setting any sort of timetable in your head like: "he could come back and win the Rumble.." seems unintentionally selfish.
Let the man get through surgery and healthy FIRST. Any worrying about his spot should be a distant second, especially for fans.
