Big fan of Rob Van Dam, jumping back into wrestling after years away from it. I haven't seen any of RVD in TNA, what are his best matches? Any recommended pay-per-views to go back and check out for an RVD fan? And how was his run in general, any memorable moments?
And a side-question, has he had any good matches with Christopher Daniels or Samoa Joe? And if there's room for more in this topic, any great Daniels matches and Samoa Joe matches in recent years to recommend?
Thanks, I appreciate it.

RVD in TNA? I honestly can't remember anything memorable he did there. Waste of time and effort.....

RVD had a pretty shocking TNA run sad to say.

Harsh, but not too surprising. I just took a look at his results, looks like he had a couple matches with Christopher Daniels, I'll try to see those. Also that one vs Sabu on general principal.

As for memorable moments, his encounter with Sting. Trust me, it's worth it, especially if you can find it without spoilers. One of the funniest ambushes I have ever seen.

His ladder match against Bobby Roode for the TNA title (at Sacrifice 2012, I believe) was pretty good.

His matches with Jerry Lynn in 2010 and 2011 were throwbacks to their old ECW matches so those might be worth checking out.

When he left. He'd halfassed it for so long and blamed it on his opponents which soured the TNA fans to the point they wanted him gone as much as they did Hogan. He had a match with Jerry Lynn at the X-Stravaganza one night only PPV that aired after he'd left which was better than most of his efforts for TNA because he actually put some effort in because he was working with a friend.

RVD phoned it in hard, TNA has a way of doing that to people.

Honestly if you look at who he faced and what those matches should have been. Yeah it was sad and very disappointing. His match against Sabu at the ECW reunion show was his best I think or his match against Lynn. The fact he blamed everyone but himself for his lack of efforts was stupid when he faced AJ. AJ is like Jericho or Shawn Michaels who has good matches with just about anybody.
The fact he didn't have a good match against Joe either was another one I can't believe and those two are friends. You thinking wrestling with one of your friends you want to have a good match and have fun. But not RVD.

I see he's had more than one match with Lynn at TNA, which one is the best, or the one you'd recommend? Did love their ECW matches. Will check out that ECW reunion PPV out of curiosity for sure. rvd's tna career summed up in one video. Wow, that was hilariously terrible. Ah TNA.

The Sabu match was very good considering Sabu age who is older than RVD and had a lot of health problems over the years but Sabu was really on his game that night and made that match a lot better than I expected because of how RVD was in TNA. It was really a good match. I think the first Lynn match was the better of the two if I recall. But neither isn't bad because it RVD and Lynn. Lynn never has a horrible match and always gives RVD a fight so both worth checking out.

He should've worked with Joe more. They had one match on Impact that I remember, and it was really good. But it was less than 10 minutes.

Someone with a better memory than I can explain this better than me, but I seem to recall RVD got murdered backstage and was left in a pool of blood. I don't remember the details, but I assume he came back to life. I can't find a pic online, so maybe I dreamed this.

Abyss attacked him and supposedly attacked him with Janis the nail board or RVD had a ketchup bottle explosion. RVD had to vacate the title, he returns on the SAME night the new World champion was crown to face Abyss. So RVD lost the title only for the next champion to be crown the same night as return. Why was he stripped?

In regards to the time that Abyss attempted murder on RVD via Janice, I want to say that the announcers claimed that he had all sorts of punctured organs and wacky injuries and then RVD showed back a month or so later like nothing ever happened.

He had some good stuff the 1st few months in his run, but he eventually just started phoning it in after a while, only occasionally having good matches(like mentioned above, with Roode). So, there's good stuff there, just not as much as people were hoping for.

His matches with Lynn at Destination X and Bound For Glory in 2011 were both good. Destination X is the best ppv TNA put out that year as it was a throwback to old school TNA, BFG's good for the variety, his match with Sabu at HardCORE Justice 2010 was good (if you liked their encounters in ECW, this is a very decent throwback).
