So sad what happened to PG.
That said, I think this also puts into consideration that the likes of Kevin Love/Aldridge/Blake Griffin all declined to play in the FIBA World Cup.

Paul George is done for the year That injury looked brutal. Anyone else watching the USA exhibition game? Don't open if you have a weak stomach. Good job by espn for only showing one replay. And great decision to call the game after the injury. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} Holy f*** that's a terrifying injury.

Well, that injury made me forget about my headache, that's for sure. D8 Hope Paul George can rehab and recover from the injury.

According to early reports, he's out 9 to 12 months minimum.

Kevin Ware from Louisville had the same thing happen to him in the 2013 Elite 8 against Duke, if you recall. He made it back at the start of the next season but only played in a couple of games before red shirting for the year.
Paul George can make it back from this though. I hope he does. Sadly it feels like this could have been avoided. I had to watch Nerlens Noel suffer his knee injury at Florida because the basket stanchion is waaaaay too close to the court. Same thing here with this. When are these arenas going to learn?

PG's injury also reminds me of when Stephen Drew shattered his leg when playing for the Diamondbacks a few years ago. He obviously came back from it but it really ruined his ability.
I'm hoping this doesn't happen here, I really do.

And great decision to call the game after the injury. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} Oh my God... EDIT: THAT WAS HIS BONE!!! I hope that's not a career-ending injury. I'm glad the surgery went well, though. Steve Nash is being very optimistic, saying PG will be back in top form in no time. I wish I could be optimistic about this. But this type of injury... I'm sorry. Shaun Livingston and Kevin Ware were able to recover from similar gruesome injuries to play competitive basketball again. There's no doubt in my mind that Paul George will be back, it's just a matter of when. I feel bad for the Pacers. The Pacers couldn't sign Lance Stephenson in the offseason, and now their best player goes down with a horrifying leg injury. Yeah, this season's officially over before it began. They may make it to the playoffs, but there is no way in hell they can compete for a championship. If there is a silver lining, this may be the year Frank Vogel can redeem himself and Roy Hibbert finally shakes off the doubt that's plagued him through his entire career... but I doubt that. At least I can watch the Indy Fuel on TV, so if things don't go well for the Pacers, I have a backup plan for winter this season.

www.sactownroyalty.com/2014/7/28/5945465/sacramento-kings-comcast-sports-net-television-rights-extensionThe Sacramento Kings just got paid. The Kings reached a new 20 year deal with Comcast for local television rights that's worth between $690 to $700 million, or around an average of $35 million a year. This deal alone is worth more than what Vivek Ranadive paid for his share of the franchise and almost equals his total cost of buying the team and his half of the cost of building the new arena. The Maloofs were dead wrong saying they couldn't make a profit owning a team in Sacramento. Unless the Kings were already on a Comcast station, be weary of Comcast networks untill everyone can see it. Source, Rockets/Astros fan who can not watch games of the local team.

The Kings have been on CSN CA for years and they carry the local broadcast for dish, directv, and other tv providers other than Comcast. I have dish now, but I'm switching back to Comcast at the end of my two years contract in December.

The NBA store has discontinued Andrew Wiggins' Cavs jersey.
Dr. Patrick Kersey, who treated Louisville guard Kevin Ware when he sustained a similar injury during the NCAA tournament regional finals in 2013, said a complete recovery for Paul George (leg) normally takes 12-18 months.

The NBA store has discontinued Andrew Wiggins' Cavs jersey. I may be the only person in the world who believes this, but I honestly think trading young developing players for Kevin Love would be terrible for the Cavaliers. Suddenly, they'd morph into the Heat all over again, with three superstars and little else to speak of. And as we learned with the Heat this past season, if one of the three stars has a down series or season, that thin bench gets magnified and the team loses. Hell, they've already started the transition into becoming Miami North by signing Mike Miller and James Jones, with the likely addition of Ray Allen imminent. Also, all of the pressure is suddenly thrust right back onto LeBron James' shoulders to bring home a title for his hometown team in 2015. In his Sports Illustrated letter to Cleveland, he talked about how the team wasn't ready to win right now, but his goal was to bring at least one championship to Cleveland before he hung up his Nikes. Well, if the Cavaliers acquire Kevin Love, that all changes, and they would have to win now. Anything short of a championship in 2015 would be a failure. I think Cleveland would be better suited standing pat with the team they have now, with LeBron James helping to develop Andrew Wiggins into a star, and helping to turn Anthony Bennett's career around. They may not win a championship in 2015, but they'd be built to win in the long-term future, as opposed to dumping any assets they have to trade for Kevin Love, in the hope that he re-signs next summer and LeBron doesn't opt out in 2015 or flee via free agency in 2016.

Keith Bogans' future with the Celtics remains in doubt, and they're reportedly hoping to use his expiring contract in a trade.
