Ass whipping coming for a while?
She's been gone for ages.

Honestly I don't even care if AJ and Paige fight over the prop forever so long as the divas that I actually like keep getting storylines.

Could be worse
We could be trying to feel sorry for Kaitlyn and Summer Rae...

I know WWE is probably trying to make Paige the heel here but nothing storywise would actually back up that claim. AJ taunted her into a match she didn't initially want, where Paige won the title. AJ came back and taunted her into a rematch she didn't want and regained. Paige never claimed to be her best friend or anything, just a "frenemy." Finally Paige had enough and beat the crap out of her. Good for her.

No, we're not. Paige was justified because WWE is her house now.

Ass whipping coming for a while? She's been gone for ages. She spent last year embarrassing her best friend, constantly beating her in big matches, she tore down the Divas division saying the others got there because they sucked up to the right people, those Divas never got a chance to respond, she constantly beat those Divas, won a match where every other Diva was against her, only lost the title on a fluke, and won it back right after coming back. She's had comeuppance coming for a long time. She went her heel run where she always won and didn't get what she deserved. It's like Orton's face turn in 2004. He was a supreme dick, never got comeuppance, and when he finally got his comeuppance, the WWE expected us to feel sorry for him, only that wasn't the reaction of the crowd. Despite cheering him earlier, fans were glad to see his character finally get his ass kicked, and get what he deserved.

I thought she'd be getting pretty good pops since she was gone for a long while, but it doesn't really seem like crowds miss her. Maybe the issues with her character are why. I don't think that even if AJ had always been a face, what Paige is doing is really villainous. She says she's the best, the WWE is her house, and kicked some ass. You mean like John Cena? Or the Rock? Or Steve Austin? Or any other "spirited" main eventer?

I don't think AJ is really supposed to be sympathetic, but Paige stringing her along only to cut her down when AJ let down her guard is a low move, especially from someone who has been portrayed up until this point as being better than that.

I can't stand AJ so I fully supported Paige headbutting her to death.

Hasn't she? All of her wins have come from behind out of nowhere.

AJ is like the John Cena of the divas division. Hell, she's been booked stronger than CM Punk ever was.

I get having no concern for characters who never did a proper turn - same reason I revel in Nikki Bella getting murked every week - but I dunno where the sentiment that AJ won all the time during her first title run comes from. Her W/L record for the time period is TERRIBLE, around 50-50 at best. She'd win on pay-per-view and drop televised matches after tagging in and taking one move.

This is where Paige has a chance to pick up AJ's fanbase, impossible as a babyface when she first came in, but she is that good as a heel she could very well do.

I'm saddened this isn't a thread about a WWE.com comment, like the "THEM RUSSIAMS" one.

She cuts a promo briefly, sincerely, apologizing and then turns face without really changing anything about her character; just the opponents she faces.
Huh. I thought this method counted as an ideal face turn.

ass whipping for what? Being friends with Paige?
Look guys. I know people don't generally have empathy or forgiveness for someone who has turned over a new leaf but AJ clearly tried to reach out and make a new friend (something she has a hard time doing) with Paige and Paige betrayed her.
Its bad enough she works in a division who basically all ganged up on her at a PPV and she STILL walked out champion.
Sure we could sit here and say "well so-and-so did this a couple of years ago so they DESERVE this beating," but really, in WWE that arguement would basically lead to everyone deserving a beating all the time.
Look at John Cena. He's done some shady stuff in his distant and not-so-distant past, but no one ever says "he deserved the beating he got" or "its been a long time coming."
My point is AJ was backed into a corner which caused her to lash out against her friends in the past. She felt betrayed and used by the people around her. It made her paranoid and accusatory, but now she's trying to work past all that and Paige does this to her?
Geez. I just - I guess I feel bad for someone who has been emotionally abused in the past causing them to treat everyone as a potential enemy and is now trying to make good. I think we all know someone (or have been someone) that's been in a similar situation.

It was played like she knew full well Paige was faking the whole time. I think if we're to blame AJ for anything, it's a bit of stupidity. That's it.

I don't see how it played like she know Paige was faking, but I agree about the bit of stupidity part. Making yourself emotionally available is dangerous and stupid in many ways
