Deion Sanders, Ocho Cinco, TO; those guys were dicks and embraced it. Be honest with yourself, Manziel. I love Terrell Owens. I know he left the Niners in a bad way, but I still love the guy. He was great on the Niners. Was he a cocky, arrogant, egotistical asshole? Yes. Did he back up what he said? Yes. Did he bust his ass on the field, and despite not liking QBs still give it his all? Yes. You can call Owens a dick, but never question how hard he worked, or his drive. I know you didn't, I just had to say that.

In the end Manziel may have an attitude but he's performing better than Hoyer with the time presented, and will probably start
I feel horrible for Hoyer, the guy was having a breakout type of year and had Cleveland on pace to have a decent record and maybe even playoffs, and he got injured at the worst possible time, now he's in a losing battle to a Cocky Asshole, who yes, has all the talent in the world and should show it off, but is still a dick.
Hoyer deserves better to me, if Cleveland makes him the backup it's a shame, I think there is something there he could show on a team that needs him.

Yeah Hoyer's been a rather unlucky guy...... He's most likely going to end up a career backup now, even though he did show in what little time he had as a starter last season that he has the talent to start......

He's most likely going to end up a career backup now, even though he did show in what little time he had as a starter last season that he has the talent to start...... Most of the AFC South (outside of the Colts, obviously) are probably looking at possible upgrades at QB. Hoyer is probably the most attractive option for that upgrade. Otherwise your most likely options would be Mark Sanchez, Jason Campbell, Matt Moore, Mike Glennon, or Dan Orlovsky. The Eagles are making a big deal out of the fact that they are willing to trade Sanchez and that teams should want him, but I don't know that anyone is beating down the door just because Mr. Buttfumble has played well in preseason games against second stringers. Campbell and Orlovsky are serviceable (and Orlovsky probably would not cost you too much), but at this point Hoyer seems better than either of them. Moore and Glennon might be better options to start than Hoyer, but their teams are likely to be unwilling to part with them unless you overpay for them.

Being a backup QB is a plum position when you're as good as Hoyer. It means he'll continue to have a team into his late 30's, but will have to do surprisingly little to prove himself as a good player. If he wants to be a starter, it'll only be a matter of time. And there's always a team in need of a solid starter, just in case he feels the need to prove himself or make a little extra money.

J.J. Watt believes he's "outplayed" his rookie contract, and wants an extension.
Steelers signed RT Marcus Gilbert to a five-year, $30 million contract extension through the 2019 season.
The NFL has officially increased the size of practice squads from eight to 10 players.

I hope that Manziel does start because his meltdown is going to be tremendous when he is facing regular season NFL defenses that are coming to lay him out.

Rihanna's whole act is so sexual that it'd be a PR disaster for the league, and as much as I like Coldplay I can't think of a more boring halftime show.
Katy Perry, please!

God, the NFL is so full of itself it's astounding. "Hey, want to play halftime at the Super Bowl? Of course you do! But first, you need to pay us an unknown and presumably preposterous amount of money. You know, just write a blank check. Then, you need to abide by a rigid, archaic set of rules about language and content that even Ward Cleaver would find unnecessary." I bet Roger Goodell thought Ed Sullivan's suggested lyric of "girl, we couldn't get much better" for The Doors' performance of "Light My Fire" wasn't rigid enough.

Pay to play? If I were under consideration my reaction would be 'LOL, f*** you NFL.'

Pay to play? If I were under consideration my reaction would be 'LOL, f*** you NFL.' Hubris. I bet the NFL thinks they're doing these three artists a favor by inviting them to play at halftime of the Super Bowl, regardless of the pay-for-play demand, saying, "Think of the exposure you'll receive from playing halftime at the Super Bowl!", as if anyone watching the Super Bowl doesn't know who f***ing Coldplay, Rihanna, or Katy Perry are. It's not like the league is offering this grand stage to some underground indie act.

Super Bowl 50 in 2016 needs a halftime show that will make people remember that Super Bowl for the ages.
So I'm suggesting either Green Day, Weird Al, or a combination of both.
