I've noticed it reported in the past that the core group of BBT actors - everyone but Bernadette and Amy/Blossom - stick together very tightly during this negotiation periods. If one walked, for any reason, the rest would too pretty quick.
I'm a fan, but I kinda get part of the BBT hate - they do make fun of the nerd/geek stuff quite a bit; a bit more in recent years - but not all of it. It's a very rewatchable show, IMO, which doesn't happen a lot these days.

I rag on this show, but I will say this much - the scavenger hunt episode of this show is sitcom perfection. Such a basic concept, mix the characters up, throw in some great lines ('My brain is better than EVERYBODY') and you have a classic episode of a sitcom. I just have barely ever seen any that meet that standard.

I get not finding it funny, humor and shit is subjective; it's the offense thing that I find sorta baffling.
I'm a dude that has comic book tattoos permanently scarred into my flesh, and never once have I been offended by them making fun of nerds.

I'm not offended by much, I have a rather dark sense of humor. but I can't stand certain things, especially when I (and others like me) are the target.

I am not a regular viewer of it, seen it when at friends house not offended by it.
However the girls go to comic book store run by the manic depressive guy and all the nerds in there go still and stare like they have never seen a woman before, not offensive but just a crap/shallow joke I want them to be more clever with it.
Community is more my cup of tea, geeky references and laugh out loud funny.

I'm not offended By BBT, I just don't find it funny.
Community is a MUCH better show IMO, The D&D episodes are awesome.
Also I can't stand the idiots who take it as gospel, Here's what I have to deal with sometimes
Person: Who are favorite comic characters? Me: Batman, Doctor Doom, Deathstroke, Aquaman. *Person laughs* Me: What's funny? Person: Aquaman is awful Me: You read any Aquaman comics Person: No, But Big Bang Theory says he sucks
I've got NO beef with people liking it.

Fair enough I guess; though I have never really seen Sheldon the character as being a representative of anyone autistic, just a dude that's so intelligent in some ways that it's made him arrogant despite being really oblivious in virtually any other scenario.

I'm just curious why people that hate this show so much wasted their time clicking on a thread about it and then took the time to tell everyone how much they hate it.
Personally, when I see a thread about a tv show I already know I dislike I don't waste my time reading it and click on threads that interest me instead.

I'm on the spectrum too (woo woo, Aspie 4 life) and I honestly find Sheldon really funny, because before I was aware of my atypical behaviours and tried to tone them down to make life easier, I can see a lot of myself in Sheldon. I'm by no means a fan of the show (it's always a last ditch effort to find something to watch on TV) so I may just not have seen anything particularly offensive but Sheldon is the funniest thing on there, to me at least.

I love Big Bang Theory. I know nerds rage over it because it supposedly "mocks" them, but who gives a shit? Everyone needs to laugh at themselves every now and then because we're all pretty ridiculous. I'm not one of the people who's angry at the show for that, but I think it's more that the mockery is pretty much inaccurate bullshit. I remember the only joke on there that ever DID actually piss me off was when they were playing Halo and the blonde bimbo character (and to be fair, blonde bimbos should be mad at this show too!) said something like it looked like a pretty good video game, to which Sheldon said it wasn't a game, it was a combat simulator. Bull. Shit. Nerds, or this particular type of nerds, are gamers, not f***ing imbeciles. Have you ever - and I do mean literally ever - met someone who corrects you when you refer to a game as a game, to refer to it as something else? Do these people exist? And even if they do, they are by far not the majority. Some parts of it are pretty good parodies of nerdishness, but it's also kinda dumb to do that anyway given that geeky things are at an all-time high of coolness what with all the comic book movies, bronies, nerdy Raybans being in style and all that shit. I think the most frustrating thing is just how much better it could be. Futurama tosses off a few jokes at the expense of its own viewers, and they're always spot on parodies of what those people are actually like and so they don't get the hatred in response. It's a sitcom, it's bound to be exaggerated dude.

I don't hate Big Bang Theory, but I do kind of feel like it's a show that has much better casting than it has writing. The actors do about as good a job as they can with what they are given, they're more than talented enough. I just don't really like Chuck Lorre's stuff.

Sheldon and Penny are the only ones who aren't completely one note(depsite what people say, Sheldon has had a ton of character development.) But Walowitz and Raj have become on trait, perv and lonely perv. Bernadette is the shrew, Amy is the the desperate lady perv. Leonard is supposed to be the viewer avatar, but he, man, I don't even know what he is now.
