For some reason, i cant see us getting it at all in the UK. Poor show WWE, really pathetic. Also it says a new date will be "announced" on November 1st, not that it will be released here so if we do get it, it could be still quite a while yet.

The more it gets delayed, the more the value of the Network for the customer depreciates, as does the want of having the Network if we can live without it so far.

Man, I feel bad for the Brits and Canadians that are getting the shaft with the Network, especially since all the 9.99 jokes and product placement are still all over the shows, but they can't even do it if they want to.

Smacks totally of Sky getting involved. I think we will be getting "Sky Sports WWE", with the majority/all of the on demand stuff being exclusive to Sky customers, but the live feed being made available to everyone.

Thought it'd been all a bit too quiet. I also suspect that Sky is a part of this too.

I agree with what has been said, this smacks of Sky involvement My bet would now be along the lines of what I said I few weeks ago:
Sky Sports Subscribers get access to the WWE Network 'free' (or inclusive in their package if you'd prefer) including: Live streams of Raw & other TV shows when broadcast PPVs
Non-Sky Sports subscribers: £6.66 a month including PPV, Raw and Smackdown blocked out/alternative stream
Non WWE Network Subscribers - PPVs still available via traditional means through Sky Box Office.
So I'm putting my money on the following
Sky Sports subscribers: FREE - inc PPVs, Raw and Smackdown 'live' (which is what they get on the TV/SkyGo anyway) Non-Sky Sports subscribers: £6.66 inc PPVs, excl Raw and Smackdown
To achieve this there'd have to be some kind of portal through which Sky customers can simply login to the WWE Network using their Sky ID with non-Sky customers having to sign up directly. It'd also make the Network figures look good if WWE can arrange some kind of $ per customer deal. £6.66 for 50,000 customers is fine but £1 for Sky's 5 million subscribers is better and it allows them to boast ridiculous numbers, albeit they subscribe at a reduced rate.
Similar to how Sky work with ESPN and BT Sport over the years. 'Free' for Sky customers and Sky essentially pay the other networks to provide the service for their customers at a £ or two for each person from which they recoup by increasing subscription in April anyway

sky.response.lithium.com/portal/conversation/2271918Came across Sky's help Twitter account. They are still saying the Network will be provided online through WWE solely. Whether those who operate the Twitter are privy to any "new" information however I'm not sure. Releasing information hasn't been a strong point in this launch!

I don't think people who respond know that much. It looks to me as if WWE wanted Sky's help but were willing to threaten launch without them. Sky played hardball denying interest and then at the 11th hour less than 48 hrs before launch the thing gets delayed. This would explain the lack of promotion of it. If WWE were waiting for Sky to blink and agree to partner the venture they wouldn't have really wanted to promote as definitive the upcoming launch. Staying silent and then announcing a delay is annoying but making a fanfare over the 1st Oct launch and then reneging would look worse.
That's what I think happened. WWE wanted Sky, Sky wanted WWE to think it had no interest. Launch date announce but then nothing said - eventually one side maybe compromised and now they're giving themselves a few weeks to work the details out.

I just had a thought:
Sky Sports F1 Sky Sports Ryder Cup Sky Sports Ashes
Okay the latter two were temporary rebrands but there's also: Sky Movies Disney
Could they be wanting to launch Sky Sports WWE as a stand-alone channel complimented by access to archives on-demand and online?
I did speak with someone at Sky few months go on an unrelated subject and they said that the idea of expanding the Sports channels with specific brand-identities to both showcase more easily their roster of rights in addition to making it seem more appealing to new subscribers and to deter switches to other broadcasters.
So:
Sky Sports Football Sky Sports F1 (done) Sky Sports Cricket Sky Sports Golf Sky Sports Europe (currently Sky Sports 5) Sky Sports *ENTER CURRENT SPORTS EVENT HERE*
..in addition to the generic '1,2,3 etc) names. So they can boast of 11/12 Sports Channels vs someone like BT Sport who have two plus ESPN.

Heck, I wouldn't even have a problem with Sky Sports WWE. It sucks that we wouldn't get the same stuff as in America but at least we'd KNOW what is going on instead of this long fight for information.
By all accounts, the UK is one of the biggest audiences for WWE. The tours mostly always sell out and the fact they signed a new deal with Sky shows how much the WWE means to them but also that nowhere else would give them that same exposure. The fact we have been messed around so much just plain confuses me for those reasons.

How do we know its Sky they're talking to.
Perhaps they are launching the network as usual but having an app on the virgin media box and offering it bundled cheaper for Virgin customers like Netflix and Spotify do?

WWE and sky are partners for 25+ years. If it was with Virgin then Sky would starve it of much needed publicity on their TV shows.

I highly doubt WWE would want to risk their relationship with Sky, a relationship they just extended, by talking to a rival about launching their app there.
It's also probably illegal in some way or another to do that. I have no idea, though.

I've followed this closely as I would like to obtain my network the 'right' way so to speak, however I'm sick of this now, I have the network & I'm happy with the network so until the day comes that I can no longer receive it, I'm out as far as caring about a UK version goes.

Sky's deal with WWE is worth $30m a year, its smaller than their US deal but in contrast there would have to be 3m US network subscribers to match it in terms of income. They wouldnt touch that elsewhere. Rocking the boat and risking that cant be worth considering by going into partnership with a rival broadcaster.

My concern with Sky Sports WWE is we STILL get a hacked to bits version of NXT and awful archive footage, etc. Why pay for that?

I just want the real version, not a Sky edition. It'd be exclusive like Atlantic.
