Welp, since Jamaica eliminated the U.S. I'm pulling for them to beat Mexico, though Kofi never really had much luck against Alberto(yes, I know that Kofi is from Ghana, West Africa now)

Rooting for Jamaica to win the Gold Cup, but I would find it hilarious if Mexico win it on a controversial late penalty, and kind of wouldn't mind seeing that happen.

Jamaica started good but have fallen apart in the second half.

3-1 to Mexico. Shame that the final turned out to be pretty one-sided. Kudos to Mexico, though... they at least deserved to win this final.

Jamaica put in a good effort but ultimately wore down. I guess that's a reason why they're ranked like #76 or something.

United signs Sergio Romero on a three-year deal. Potentially an excellent signing, but South American goalkeepers tend to struggle in the Premiership.

United signs Sergio Romero on a three-year deal. Potentially an excellent signing, but South American goalkeepers tend to struggle in the Premiership. He's pretty tall for a South American keeper, which gets rid of a lot of the problems foreign keepers have attempting to the cross and corner centric play of a lot of British football teams. He's a damn fine second choice though, especially since it seems United are hell bent on not succumbing to the purchasing power of Real. Although, I always thought Lindegaard gets over-looked a lot. He might not be first choice for a top Premiership team, but he's a damn fine goalie and his career has stagnated so much over the last couple of years. I also think Romero is a far better alternative than Valdes, whose suffering from Casillas. A smaller keeper who relied on agility and less crosses, but injuries have robbed him of his finer qualities.

Well, that was an embarassing performance by the Yanks during the Gold Cup.
Anyway, for local play, the Eleven and the New York Cosmos are eternal rivals. All six times they have played, they have drawn. It's incredible.

Ironically, the Fury game two weeks ago aside, this has been some of the best they've played this year.

Are they any fun to watch? What's the crowd like on match days?

Are we having a fantasy football league again this year? If you want to set up a league, then feel free and I'll put the link to the league in the first post of the shiny new thread (which I'll start up sometime this weekend). Armbar set up the league for last season, so he might have already set one up.

They aren't an explosive offensive team, so don't expect outright victories, but as far as the atmosphere goes, it's really fun. Not bad for Tier 2 in the North American system.
