Maybe it's just me, but compelling storytelling would involve Cena questioning his abilities even more after Bray defeats him. Cena needs an angle where he can't win and knows it and his character grows. They can still try and steer it back that way if Cena gets thumped again at Night Of Champions. For someone who prides himself on work ethic and has been as generally dominant as he has, it's actually a somewhat logical reaction for him to think "Damn, took my eyes off the prize for that one. This time I've actually gotta focus". However, crushing Wyatt like he did is probably going to give him false confidence, and that is a really dangerous thing to have coming in against Lesnar. If he gets crushed again, then that should be the time that he asks the questions of himself... I don't know.

Cena needs an angle where he can't win and knows it and his character grows. You mean like the worst year of his life, in which he only barely managed to defeat Brock Lesnar in his first pro wrestling match since his UFC run, win Money in the Bank, and have the "irrelevant" WWE Champion CM Punk defeated several times yet fail to win the championship by various flukes/interferences and only squeaked by toward his thirdish Royal Rumble victory?

Remember when Bray Wyatt was supposed to be the next big main event star? Those were fun times. I knew Cena would probably win last night, but the way he did saddens me. The near jobber entrance for Bray. All 3 Family members getting beaten down by Cena. The storyline buildup that Cena wasn't the same man anymore, that he doesn't have a chance after that Lesnar beatdown, only for him to decisively win against a "lesser" opponent. I look forward to Bray main eventing a wrestling show in a few years. It's just sad it'll most likely happen in my local indy promotion.

I re-iterate my case that now is the time for a female Wyatt family member, or at the very least to expand the Family. The formula has clearly worn down, aided by lousy booking. New members would be a way to inject some fresh energy into the gimmick and get their heat back.

They feud with Kane. Nothing happens to him. He joins the Authority, thus making the Wyatts an irrelevancy
Then they are used as a means of sabotaging Daniel Bryan. Why did he join them? No logical reason. He spends about two weeks with them. All comes to nothing
Feud with Cena and lose.
Feud with Jericho, and two weeks later used as disposable bodies to show just how 100% serious John Cena is now for his match with Lesnar (apparently he was only 95% serious when he met Lesnar at Summerfest)

I'm one of the hardest people to piss off when it comes to wrestling. I'll roll my eyes or sigh at bad segments, but I hardly ever get genuinely angry at wrestling. Hell, I've watched TNA every week since 2005 and it's rarely actually made me mad, even with all of the shit theyve done.
That Cena/Wyatt match actually pissed me off.

I'll never understand the line of thinking that's like, "We've booked John Cena as ridiculously dominant for the better part of a decade, but this one loss to Brock at Summerslam means he's weak again so lets have him handily beat the Wyatts on RAW to build him back up again."
It was ONE loss. ONE. That's barely even a storyline's worth of losses to warrant some kind of big "proving myself to be tough again" kind of moment.
That is how insecure they are about Cena's status, which is just sad.

When I said Cena killed Bray's heat by not wanting to job to him and push him to the next level, as he did with Wade, I was vilified by the good Samaritans of this forum, alongside this troll mod that always want us to say that Cena the man is a great person...
Remember when the Wyatts beat the shit out of the freakin Shield and humbled them??? Now this. What a shame. Good job making new stars John Cena.

I watched the main event last night and I was like....I DON'T F**KING CARE! And you know why? Because there was no emotions being addressed. Sure he looked like they were going to do something completely different with his beat down of Bray Wyatt but no they threw it away to make him continue to be a goodie goodie. What if they actually pulled the trigger and make him a crazed up person. Like if he pictured Bray as Brock Lesnar and literally bust up Bray to the point he is bleeding everywhere shocking the audience and tv audience that someone like him actually did something that he would never do, only to have him go outside and hug the kid in the front row and make that beatdown look like it never happened? Thats the problem with Cena. Creative and his creative control has made him so bland and unbelievable that even if he were to turn heel at this point the kids would still chant for him because they would just see it as he came up with a new mindset to beat Lesnar and then go back to being how he normally acts the following night.

At this point, I'd have Bray and the Wyatts acknowledge their downward spiral in a promo... then 'go away' or 'return home' for a couple of weeks. Provide us with some creepy video clips at the family compound, of perhaps images of a communal baptism where Wyatt is 'reborn' and renewed, ready to come back to spread his word in the WWE. The sort of imagery we got in their initial packages showing all of Wyatt's devoted masses around him while he extended his arms in the swamps... If they throw in some other figure to the family during it all - the 'female' Wyatt previously proposed by fans - all the better.

There's not much left for the Wyatts after last night. A feud with Reigns? A face turn? What? I think they do need to disappear for a bit, or at least Bray. It's just a shame how many people really built themselves some great momentum the last couple years and then had it ripped away for no logical reason. Wyatts, Dolph, Cesaro, Sandow, Ryback, Ryder... It's almost like they don't want the fans to make new stars because they've invested too much in their select few.

Welp, they tried to make a New Nation, now they'll try to make the Wyatts the new Oddities.

With Rey sitting out, they're deathly worried about how the kids will react if Cena (the only other "Friend to All Children" character left) loses.

You could see it coming with the way Luke and Eric were dominated by the Uso's.
If more people had things to do stuff like this would not be happening.

Moments like this make me wonder if anyone still enjoys the Super Cena act? Like, is today's John Cena as thrilling and entertaining as you thought it was back in 2005? I mean, geez. Cena was doing the same bullshit when Kelly Clarkson had a #1 hit. That's how long Cena has been doing the same thing, Raw in, Raw out. Cena was doing the same shit before How I Met Your Mother, 30 Rock, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Modern Family, Community or The Big Bang Theory existed. Before The Dark Knight, Snakes On A Plane, Avatar, The Marvel Cinematic Universe..... His first world title win was on the opening weekend of the first Sin City, about a month and a half before Star Wars Episode 3 and two months before Batman Begins.

Yeah, the Wyatts need to go away for a bit and come back with an army or something. An hobo army ideally.

Leave until HIAC and re-appear with two new members - another guy and a woman.
The woman's use is obvious but the other guy is Rowan's new tag partner and let Harper go singles, this way Bray can be a mouthpiece and a rarely used/boss fight type deal. Shake things up a bit.

I guess you can have the Wyatts go away, then a new Diva debuts and cuddles up with Cena for a few months, down the line we find out she is Sister Abagail.
