maybe that's why they're going with the rematch at NoC? Brock destroys cena again so they can write him off and let him heal til say the Rumble or something. with the "obligatory rematch" looming in the background they used it at the first possible chance instead of keeping it in reserve and thus keep cena in action while everyone waits for him to call it in.
now he loses and can take some time off without the specter of the cena rematch lurking behind anyone else they try to send against brock.

Cena is like the Giant Worms in Dune. The WWE has become so dependent on his spice (money/drawing) that the mere mention of it being in sort supply causes complete upheaval that's felt in every corner of the universe.
I guess that makes Nikki Bella the chosen one because she learned how to ride the worm and live in it's strange and sterile environment.

Do you think John knows that even most of his detractors like and respect the hell out of him? That all of the "Cena sucks" stuff is aimed "creative" and not at him personally? I think I speak for MOST fans when I say that we don't want the guy (who has given seeming every minute of his time to fans and charity) to wind up badly hurt. I couldn't have said it any better.

I get a bad feeling about this whole thing, I'm sure a lot of people do but really all it takes is one mistake. He's over there wrestling through injuries and yet Bryan couldn't wrestle and he had to be looked at immediately. I know Cena loves being out there but he really has to think about his future.
We don't need another Edge situation.

Considering this, I'm impressed he dealt with Brock's onslaught last week. Eh. Don't be some impressed when he's 45 and in a wheelchair, unable to move much of his body. With the stories about Cena working thru injuries that seem to mount over the years, it just sounds like he runs a risk of doing real damage to himself.

This is just another sign of what's been increasingly apparent for the past few years, that Cena is basically just Kurt Angle 2.0 just without the drugs.

This just adds to my belief that were about to see Cena have a massive falling out with WWE/Vince. Frustrations rising, injuries taking their toll, and it is just the norm in WWE for the top guy to leave on bad terms it seems.

I get a really bad feeling about it, I won't be surprised if we see an Edge situation. The company is dumb, it isn't hard. If they want Cena for rating then give him another role, maybe GM or another on-air role without actually getting into the ring. We don't really care about Cena's matches anymore, make him a special attraction like Triple H. It'll help everyone out in the end.

Cena HAS to leave like Edge. You've seen how WWE have booked him after his first CLEAR loss in over a decade. How do you think they'd react to booking a loser leaves match with him or something?
WWE can't write Cena off TV forever, it is not in their DNA. They seemingly want to be forced into his retirement. They have no other plan.

That's it. With Punk gone, DBry sidelined, I think Roman Reigns is ready to replace Cena. You're scaring me :c

Cena will go the Hogan route in life, Wrestling with nagging injuries until he's in his 80's.
For once Cena, Just pretend you are not your gimmick and take a f***ing break.

Cena's actually legally dead, one day an arm and a leg will fall off in the ring and he'll carry on, he'll lose all blood, but still carry on.
Hey, you're looking at me strange right now but given how much he works to the detriment of his own body he must be dead.
Or a classic zombie, y'know, brainwashed.

I've been expecting that for years too, that eventually Cena's going to abruptly leave one day and then they're going to have a similar relationship they had to Bret for a few years before we ever see him again.

I dunno, surely if he's having neck problems he wouldn't have taken so many Germans at Summerslam? Even if the person doing them's careful as hell, it's still gonna put strain on it. And it was Bork chucking him around like a rag doll, so I feel doubtful.

I don't know why reports of Cena leaving to do acting keep coming up. Are they for real, or is there some secret library somewhere of him actually showing more than a basic (and basic is being very kind) level of acting?

At this point I'd be more shocked to hear that Cena is healthy.

He's playing the villain in a Tina Fey movie, and there's another one that I forget.

Yeah, no disrespect to Cena, but from all his performances he's not exactly shown range or an ability to perform/sell well even in an overly theatrical sense. He's not put time into acting or non-wrestling ring performance beyond preacher-voice or Boston suck up voice. He COULD go into some series that are very popular due to his name value with certain segments of the wrestling audience, but unless he was playing typecast jock-bro-musclehead-patrior over and over (which is an industry unto itself, I know) then eh.

Why would he take so many suplexes if he had neck issues? That's just stupid. Brock could have destroyed him with various other moves that would have protected his neck.
Maybe WWE (or maybe Cena himself) just leaks these 'Cenas working injured' stories to keep the whole never give up gimmick strong. Conspiracy!
