Cena should ask Arn Anderson, Edge, Paul Orndorf and others what they think about working through injury. There will come a point where his body just gives up after a show and then what? The WWE will be left without a viable top babyface as they've cut everyone with crowd support off at the knees in favour of pushing their guys, people like Sheamus and Reigns who'll never really connect with the audience if the WWE keep pushing them as they have. Just don't ask Hogan, given the, "He should've kept working instead of being a pussy," reaction he had to Edge's retirement.

To be fair to WWE in this case, they can't sit around and hope DB will be healthy enough to return. They have to plan for if he doesn't, which in this case is Roman. I'm not surprised by this news at all. It was always going to happen when he continues to rush back from injury. Roman isn't ready. I think what WWE needs to do is rebuild their fallen stars so they can hold down the fort while Reigns gets more seasoning. I can at least buy Sheamus as a world champion because he's been one before. Reigns now is more ready than Sheamus in 2009, or Sheamus in 2010 for that matter.

He's not more ready than Sheamus in 2012 though. That Sheamus is far above Reigns. If Sheamus can win a high profile feud and then become champion before Reigns is ready then I'd buy it.

The argument with Sheamus being ready or not doesn't really matter anymore because they had two belts then and being a champion wasn't as important as it is now because you still had another champion to fall back onto. These days, the Champion is the be-all end-all, the most important part of the show. If Reigns is to win the title, he's going to need to be ready to carry the company and I feel he will be with time.

I've believed for a while that if Sheamus reverted that that badass face role he very briefly had while feuding with Mark Henry in 2011 then WWE could have a mega star if handled right.

Completely agree. Sheamus just has to be built up right again and it wouldn't be hard given his character, it's just that he needs to go back to the badass babyface rather than Cena Part 2.

Also, at the time, Cena, Triple H, Michaels, Undertaker, a somewhat more usable Kane, Punk, an actually over Orton, Jericho, and Batista were around full-time. Sheamus at no point was expected to be carrying the company.

A million times yes. I beat this horse a lot, but take his matches with Cesaro, Tensai, Barret, etc. and build on that to make him the Brody/Hansen 2014 edition. Good guys come in different flavors - some are jokey boy scouts (Cena), some are humor jobbers (Santino), some are wise-assed know-it-alls (CM Punk)... and some are no-nonsense ass kickers *insert Triple H joke here*. Sheamus should fall into the latter. His promos should center around how he wants to kick your face out of the back of your head, not McCena.
