There's nothing specific about this thread other than it has to be about Starwars. Say whatever is on your mind regarding George Lucas' creation. I'll start out simply by saying Boba Fett is the man, Shadows of the Empire is totally underrated and Kevin Smith rules (he's a Starwars fan and makes multiple references in all his films). I also wouldn't mind seeing the final episode of the Ewoks cartoon if anyone knows where I can find it on the Internet. It's supposed to be about the Empire visiting Endor prior to building the second Death Star. And I love the fact that Mr. Burns' theme is the same as Vader's.

I would like to say that I enjoyed The Phantom Menace. I don't know why everyone had a problem with it,Had one of the best lightsaber duels,And one of the coolest Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn.

The new trilogy sucks, save for Episode III.

Anybody else happy that the original original (ie: untainted) trilogy is coming to DVD this fall?
No more Greedo-shooting-first BS!

i enjoyed this one book with Lando, R2D2 and C3PO trapped in a living (biomechanical) ship .....Farscape? i was always considered "blasphemous" for having Return Of The Jedi as my favourite of the original trilogy but damn it! The scenes with Luke, Vader & The Emperor with John Williams being an absolute god with the orchestral music gives me geekgasm shudders down my spine every time I watch it. also, the book with Bounty Hunter short stories is F'in A.

No more Greedo-shooting-first BS! i can deal with it being letterboxed DVD so I can preserve my Widescreen VHS's, which I watch once-a-year I'm sure this is Lucas giving something back to the fans before the ULTIMATE-HYPER Editions on HD-DVD/Blu-ray where Greedo would actually join the crew as the 7th member and truly recreate a "Western in Space" feel that Lucas was originally going for.

RealDoubleJ, you win teh Internet with your sig.
As for Star Wars, I have grown to appreciate the Phantom Menace a lot more over the last year or so, but I cannot stand Attack of the Clones. I was always spiteful of Jar Jar Binks and the 10 minutes of Darth Maul-ness in TPM, but in the end, it's not that bad.
And if you haven't picked up the Clone Wars cartoon, then you must do so. A highly enjoyable miniseries very reminiscent of Samurai Jack.

I love all three trilogies but of course extremely partial to the original. Haven't read any of the Timothy Zahn or Extended Universe books. One friend told me in one of the books Leia is actively running around while pregnant with twins and after that she couldn't read anymore. Same thing with Padme being preggers with twins and looking like she just drank a few too many cans of Coca-Cola.

RealDoubleJ, you win teh Internet with your sig. *Ego grows into the size and shape of Randy Savage* Oh Yeah! ;D Does anyone else get that thing with re-watching Phantom Menace on the TV, that it feels like you're watching it for the very first time? You sit down for the whole of it, the pain keeps coming back as you wince with each Jar Jar line, but by the end you find yourself hating it not as much as you used to? Maybe that's the key to loving the new trilogy. You have to watch it 50 times before you see the Godhead/Midichlorianhead and it all makes sense. and everyone needs Tartakovsky's Clone Wars on DVD. Star Wars fan or not. You NEED It!

The VHS copies from the 80s, HBO copies from the mid 80s, the Special Edition from the mid-90s, the Super Duper Special Edition from 1997 and the DVDs from last year. And I have some more versions from various sources. -Kelly

I thought the next trilogy, or actually the next phase of Star Wars was heading to TV.
And a possible setting in the KOTOR universe.
If Darth Malak shows up on my TV one day, it will be a very good day indeed.

I enjoy a lot of the books, especially Timothy Zahn's. Some of the "New Jedi Order" books aren't too bad, either.
I enjoyed all of the Star Wars movies, but some things did annoy me.

ACtually, now that I think about it, if they do a spinoff series/trilogy, I'd like to see some focus on Kyle Kataarn (sp?). I always enjoyed his character through the Jedi Knight games, and being one of the newer Jedi Masters leaves lots of possibilities for him.

I'd love to see something based on the X-Wing books. I mark for Rogue Squadron.
