She's decent in all of the important areas (wrestling, talking mannerisms, character development, etc). Not much to complain about with her. I think that is exactly the problem. She's decent. Not great, not good, but decent. As a cast member in a vibrant roster of middling to good talents, she'd do just fine. As the star of the show, it highlights how fundamentally flawed the women's division is. She's head and shoulders above most of her contemporaries, the majority of whom can only tangentially qualify as wrestlers.

She's attractive that's for sure. She makes moves devastating with her selling. Shes a great talker (Still think Trish was better) and she has a different style that all the other Divas which makes her stand out. She's like the Paige before Paige lol.
She's great with fans and she likes hobbies people wouldn't expect a Diva to like i.e. video games and comic books.
She's Olivia Munn if she became a wrestler

First and foremost, she is very attractive. I have always liked dark haired, dark complected women, and she fits that bill. Call it sexist, sue me.
I was talking about this earlier and someone disagreed, but I think she is very good on the mic. Something about the way she speaks is very entertaining to me. Down to the bare bones that I like the sound of her voice. I like her voice inflection. I like the different tones she uses. I like her facial expressions. Everything about her personality is spot on to me.
I like her in the ring. I think she has worked hard to become a good worker. I think she is the best female in ring talent they have. That includes Paige, Nattie, Charlotte, whoever.
To me, she just has 'it'. That undeniable, unexplainable, spark that draws you to an entertainer.
I NEVER get crushes on movie stars or tv personalities... Ever. Like, my whole life, honestly. AJ is probably the closest thing I have had to that.

I don't, really. She's just kinda there, like the rest of the Divas.

The things that I liked about her in the past are long gone. She was a cool likable babyface. I liked her as GM of Raw, and I liked her very early on when she was crazy.
Since then, I don't care because she's not doing much to make me like her, and I think she's been exposed as not quite being the ring general we were told she's supposed to be.
And I say all of this with also saying I don't find AJ to be all that attractive. Personality wise, she's awesome. She's like a lot of my female cosplayer nerd friends. Lookswise, I'm not nearly as into her as a lot of guys are. She's not my type in the least. So she doesn't get the "Derp derp, she's hot" pass from me, either.

I wouldn't say her character is perfect but it's just a bit different from ' perky princess baby face' or 'mean bitch heel' which covers most of the other divas.
At various times AJ has been sweet, obnoxious, boring, sympathetic, nerdy, cool, selfish, moral ect ect.
In short her character being a contradiction means she has probably absorbed a lot of her real life traits into it (the fabled "my character is the real me x10" ability that has produced so many memorable characters).
Whether this is due to AJ's awareness or Vince's indulgence she has character traits that are usually reserved for the male wrestlers so she stands out.

AJ was their best chance for a major breakout female star. The biggest one since Trish and Lita. But as successful as AJ has been, they could have done a lot more. There's a real reluctance in WWE to push women, even though in every other form of entertainment, women-led products and projects have made shitloads of money.

Meh, I always liked Kaitlyn better.
She was overbearing and annoying after she became GM, never cared about her again.

I like her because she just "gets it." She's a good wrestler - light years ahead of most the WWE Divas. She actually looks like a wrestler and not someone trying to wrestle.

She is a good wrestler. I love submission finishers. She has good mic skills. I look up to her because of how much I relate to her as I am a tiny brunette tomboy who loves video games, especially Pokemon and MGS. I respect how she speaks her mind and likes to keep her personal life private unlike many divas... Her outfits are always really cool. She's adorable and spunky. She actually likes wrestling and grew up with it. One of my biggest frustrations with the company is when they employ people who don't give a shit. She plays her character well although I think she needs a bit of a refresh. In an era where every woman was given the exact same character, she stood out and made it work very well. Despite passing out at a house show and having a nagging injury, she still wrestled as champion for months. That is pretty awesome and shows how tough she is. From her interviews and Comic Con Q&A videos, she comes across as a really cool person.
Honestly I do find a thread like this kinda pathetic. Everyone likes who they like and they shouldn't really be questioned why. We all got our different opinions and I feel as if this is the perfect thread for some certain people to simply trash on her. Then we get the usual drama that makes me frustrated as an AJ and women's wrestling fan. Watch this hit ten pages.

So why I like AJ?
-I guess starting out on the indies is something that I always respect in wrestlers, mostly due to hearing about the fights and hardships on the indies, and it's really something admirable, especially when a lot of the women sadly are hired on from talent agencies, and even recently they did a whole hiring spree of people like that. That's not to say women can't go from modelling into pro wrestling, but it seems a lot of the time, that ends up being the case. For every Michelle McCool, Victoria and Trish, there's a ton of people like Cameron, Rosa Mendes, Kelly Kelly, Candice Michelle, Aksana, and the list goes on. So there's that for a baseline.
-AJ is an engaging performer. Yes, recently she's been bogged down with CM Punk chants, but the way she presents herself, people respect her and appreciate her talent. To contrast with the other women, she's an actual human, where most of the other women are presented as walking vaginas. Now granted, there can be some sexism attributed to AJ and the women are crazy trope, but I think AJ handles it pretty well and makes it all her own.
-AJ is up there with Dolph Ziggler, Heath Slater and Seth Rollins as one of the best sellers in the company, and head and shoulders above all the women. She takes moves and she looks like she gets murdered, and while she lacks a bit in the technical department, which she herself admits, she ends up making some of the more terrible wrestlers look good, and the better wrestlers look great. One little thing I notice is she will sprawl out when she gets hit with something, essentially to make herself seem bigger and so that more people can see her laid out. That is probably AJ's best trait.
-Even though she's not the best wrestler, her matches are still enjoyable as well.

In OP's defense, she simply wanted insight into why people like her out of curiosity. Nothing wrong with it, and you just gave very good reasons as to why. I've never understood people's kneejerk reactions to being asked to explain what it is they like about something. If anything, that's easy. You know why you do. Share it. It's not going to invalidate your beliefs. If anything, hopefully, it'll paint a picture for someone who might not see something you do, and alter their perception slightly, or at least make them understand better. Helping people understand should be the goal of all conversing. It's how people with different views and ideals potentially find common ground. It's a good thing.

I didn't start this thread to be inflammatory. I don't want it to be inflammatory. I'm not looking to bash AJ, or any posters here. I'm not saying "You like AJ and you're wrong! Defend yourself!" I don't think that anyone who likes AJ (or any other wrestler) is wrong. We all like what we like and thats okay! I am genuinely curious as to what it is about AJ that people like, that draws people in. Is there something that I am somehow missing or not getting.

Helping people understand should be the goal of all conversing. It's how people with different views and ideals potentially find common ground. It's a good thing. I'd actually like there to be more threads like this, because it gets at the most fundamental question behind all of our tastes and behaviors. "Why?" There's something to learn here. That's a major departure from something cut from the cloth of "This guy sucks!" or "This was the worst thing" or "This was the best thing," like so many threads on here are. I don't detest those threads, mind you, but I do appreciate seeing something where people are held up to offer reasoning behind what they do or think. For example, the "why do you dislike John Cena"-type threads of 2008 and 2009 offered some interesting insight on what it was that made people dislike him, and helped flesh out and contextualize a zeitgeist that still hangs around here to this day. I don't think we get enough of that sort of discussion on this board, though when we do, it often makes the best conversations.

I like A.J. Lee. She is cute, good on the mic and seems like a nice person who you could be friends with. My only problem with her is her crazy act because she comes across as a cartoon character. She skips to the ring, tilts her head and makes crazy eyes and I think yeah right.
