No Deep Purple, no Iron Maiden, no buys. The "Smoke On The Water" riff alone should qualify Deep Purple. Think about how many guitarists got their start playing that riff. It's madness that they're not in. Maiden too. I like Sting in the Police but he does not deserve to be in for his solo career. I definitely want to see Stevie Ray Vaughan in the Hall.

Deep Purple were an extremely influential band.

Yet another year where I ask where Motorhead, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest are in the nominees. Look, I like Dookie, Insomniac, and various NIN albums as much as the next guy, but it's team for those previously mentioned bands to at least get a nomination. And if Sting gets in for his pitiful solo career, I may just vomit all over this very keyboard.
Anyway, if I had to choose from that list:
- The Smiths - Stevie Ray Vaughn (I also thought he was already in.) - N.W.A. - Green Day - Nine Inch Nails - Lou Reed

Thus far, the fan vote has SRV in the lead. This pleases me greatly.

Sting has more fan votes than The Smiths. Have these people actually heard Sting's solo work?

Considering the state of the hall, I personally would be insulted to be nominated.

Here's the pattern
2-3 major obvious inductees
1 "they aren't already in there yet?" inductee
2 acts that should have been in 20-30 years ago
thousands of fans who are more concerned with who ISN'T in the HOF as opposed to who might be going in
I didn't mean that to sound catty, but it's almost more about the debate rather than the congratulations

Hopefully this is the year the queen of rock and roll the original riot grrrl can get into the hall! Also f*** green day a bunch of corporate sellouts who don't belong in any rock hall of fame.

Has Soundgarden ever been up for induction? They're definitely eligible. I figured there'd be a wash of those Seattle bands getting in soon. I believe Pearl Jam is eligible in 2016, they're a shoo-in at some point, maybe not the first year.
Actually seeing how long it took Sabbath to get in, and the fact that Priest/Maiden/Deep Purple aren't in yet, never mind. I don't even particularly like those bands outside of Sabbath, but what a crime. Soundgarden shouldn't get in before them. Pearl Jam's the "right" kind of band for the Hall though, they'll get in quick.

The Smiths going in would be laughable. Not because their music doesn't warrant it- they're my favourite band ever- but because they simply would not show up. I'm pretty confident in saying that Hell would freeze over before Morrissey attended the R&R HOF.
And people calling Green Day corporate sellouts is almost as much of a cliche as people mocking wrestling fans for watching "that fake gay shit".

How are Green Day corporate sellouts? Is your opinion based off of American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown?
