Hopefully this is the year the queen of rock and roll the original riot grrrl can get into the hall! Also f*** green day a bunch of corporate sellouts who don't belong in any rock hall of fame. How are Green Day corporate sellouts? Is your opinion based off of American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown? I feel that there's this weird idea that if a punk band adopts pop elements or happen to be on a big label, that they're sellouts. I'm not even sure I know what sellout means in 2014. Yes, music is a business. Yes, not all music is made by starving artists baring their souls for their art. Not all punk bands can be Fugazi. I don't listen to music for an unwritten list of ethics, I listen to it for the sound. Having said that, Green Day aren't my first choice for any hall of fame but based on popularity and the fact that a lot of bands in the last few decades have been influenced by them to make music; I can see why they're nominated for the hall. Realistically, I think Green Day being in the hall will open the doors for other 80s/90s punk bands. One question I have, is how does a band/artist become eligible for the rock hall? What is the criteria? Last thing I have to say is that if you think it will be a cold day in hell when Morissey shows up, just wait till they try and get New Order/Joy Division. I'd lol hard if the rest of the Smiths showed up with Boy George or someone similar in a comically large pompadour to sing some Smiths songs. Maybe he could eat a burger on stage too.

I didn't know there was that much bad blood between the members of New Order. I know Peter Hook and Barney Sumner aren't the best of friends anymore but didn't know there was that much else to it.

I think they would turn up if they got inducted if only for Ian Curtis. As for The Smiths, can't see that happening at all.

For Lou Reed's induction, Metallica will perform all 87 minutes of Lulu in its entirety.
