N.W.A Green Day Nine Inch Nails Sting The Smiths Lou Reed Paul Butterfield Blues Band Joan Jett and The Blackhearts Kraftwerk Chic War Stevie Ray Vaughan Bill Withers The Marvelettes The (Detroit) Spinners
Yes, yes, several of those acts are not "rock and roll" in some definitions but that particular HOF became that in name only several years ago.
A pretty strong list but yet again, no George Michael. Or Slade. Yet Green Day are nominated already?

Kraftwerk has to get in eventually. They have a huge influence on electronica and rap.

Those first six kinda HAVE to get in at some point, don't they? Yeah. Sting is already in with The Police. I don't think his solo career is that noteworthy for him to be in the same category as people like Lou Reed, whose solo work is noteworthy, yet is already in as a part of The Velvet Underground.

Almost seems too early for NIN, Reznor's still killing it and I doubt he's even close to done. Also seems kind of weird to induct NIN as an entity because it really is just Trent Reznor, anyways.

Stevie Ray Vaughn isn't in yet? All this time, I thought he was already in.

Those first six kinda HAVE to get in at some point, don't they? Not sure why Sting has to get in as a solo artist since almost all his records are of the adult contempory genre with occasional dablings into generic wannabe world music. Like if he get's in why not let Michael Bolton,Anne Murray and Kenny G

Have they indicated if the fan vote will return or do they feel it served its purpose since Kiss finally got in?

I have to wonder how older bands get no mention at all. There are far more influential bands that aren't in there yet.

The Smiths would be an interesting one because how would they handle that one if they go in? Who would turn up?

I'm not feeling this list at all/I mean I like some of the acts, but I'm kind of in shock that they've moved into the 90s and from here on out it'll be more prominent than any of the other decades.
IMO this is the weakest class ever

I'd love to see a Morrissey Hall of Fame speech.
As far as Green Day and Nine Inch Nails are concerned, it does seem a bit early for them. Nine Inch Nails have been around since the late 80s though, so maybe not so much in their case.
