I like to talk about this particular subject a lot, for some strange reason: Discussing the home runs that could have been hit if the company was willing to take the swing. While in other sections we look at people from WCW, I figured that we could look at the WWF as well. Off of the top of my head, one name comes to mind right away: Flash Funk. RIDICULOUSLY talented guy in his prime, that could fly around like nobodies business. And while he was able to showcase that high flying, he never really got off of the ground in terms of rising up the card. And it's a crying shame that he didn't win a single title during his time in the World Wrestling Federation. I'm not saying he could have been a main eventer selling out arenas, but he could have been on top of The Light Heavyweight Division, or given a run with the Intercontinental Championship or something. Because he showed in the past that in terms of working to put on a great match, he had legs that would make ZZ Top faint out of pure delight. (I am not talking about the legs that are a part of his anatomy.  ) But besides him, who else during this span of two years do you think could have been a LOT more then they really were? |

This is tricky because for all his faults Vince Russo has always done a great job of making sure everyone has something to do. Flash Funk and Shane/Dean Douglas are pretty good picks though. Also, Chris Candido could have been more than a Bodydonna in WWF. A lot of people praise Candido too much I think, but he was at least better than being just a Bodydonna.
Also, going the other way Ahmed Johnson and Bradshaw should have gotten pink slips. Johnson just about murdered some of his opponents with his unsafe work and Bradshaw has always been a shitty in-ring worker as far as I'm concern (I've enjoyed some of his commentary though).

2 Cold Scorpio in ECW from late 1995 til he left for WWE was the best. His brief run as 2 Gold Scorpio was one of my favorite arrogant heel characters ever and Dropping The Bomb is still one of mt favorite finishers ever. Why they turned him into Huggy Bear is mind-boggling...

Vader would be the obvious pick. Very athletic big man with power and a mean streak. I could see a big feud with him and the Undertaker. Would have liked to see them use Sunny more as a singles manager rather than tag team. She was really over but the tag division was crap. I'm sure she could have been a mouth piece for a rising star or involved in some angle with an established one. Her talents and mic skill were wasted as a backstage interview.

Honestly, I feel like The Undertaker is a very valid answer. Parts of 96 and 97, I'll grant you, but I'd say this was the period where The Undertaker really started to be a lot more other than the zombie guy. The Mankind and Kane feuds gave us some of the most memorable and iconic moments in his career and it was the period where his matches started to improve (Summerslam '97 against Bret and HIAC against Shawn are still two of my favourites and Wrestlemania XII against Diesel is a great big man match) |

They were still crazy over going into 98, and they got space helmets, a tagalong third member, a drug addiction storyline, a fake suicide, and Paul Ellering turning on them and aligning with f***ing DoA, who were among the few acts that could elicit total silence over an Attitude Era crowd.

Try and tell me that if you had Vader in Sid's place in 1996-1997 with him taking the title instead that things wouldn't have been better. Edit: Another good answer.  They could have done more with 1, 2, 3 Kid honestly and Razor and Diesel, but they left on their own accord. |

Yeah the Scorpio one is annoying, it's a shame he didn't debut when they were going full force with the edgier product, I know he eventually reverted back in the Attitude era but it was clearly too late then and according the wiki he asked for time off for personal issues and was released. It's depressing just thinking about them coming up with these stereotypical black guy gimmicks, you have this bad ass coming in and the best they can come up with is "ok he's flashy, he's funky, he dances! We'll call him Flash Funk and he'll come out with dancing girls, The Funkettes!", I know they like to have "fun" stuff like this for the kids and whatnot but ugh.

Came in this thread to say Vader but that's already been covered.
I'll go with one out of left field: The Jackyl aka Don Callis. He would have made an excellent mouthpiece for someone they needed to get over. Instead they just wasted him with guys like Kurrgan, the Oddities and the Acolytes.
