The Hack-A-Player strategy: Pop has said he hates it, but until the NBA does something about it, he'll keep doing it. It's almost like he's daring the NBA to do something about it. Yeah I expect the NBA to make a rule about it maybe this off-season. A Spurs beat writer I follow on Twitter mentioned that it gets brought up every off season. As for the Spurs, I'm excited that they're in the position they are in. I'll be totally honest there was a point where I worried that they would end up the 8 seed or miss the playoffs entirely, so in this beast of a western conference the fact that they are now top 4 and could finish second is astounding. Personally, I'm ok with the 3 seed and hope Memphis beats LAC and we get the Clippers in the first round. Would rather have a first round against them over Houston or Dallas.

To Spurs fans, it absolutely is subpar. Longest losing streak in the Duncan era happened. They're an aging team at the tail-end of the Duncan era. Full season or not, the fact that they still have the ability to turn it on when it counts and be this dominant is remarkable. The Warriors want absolutely nothing to do with them.

One word to describe the Heat's season: Frustration. Injuries, blown leads, and inconsistent play. Those three things cost the Heat their season. The injuries aren't something you can control, but giving up leads in the 2nd half of games and not getting consistent play from your main guys is just inexcusable.
I'm hoping none of this frustration carries over to next season. At least there's hope with Bosh coming back. The projected starting 5 of Bosh, Wade, Dragic, Deng, and Whiteside didn't play at all this year thanks to Bosh's season-ending injury, so I'm looking forward to seeing what these 5 can do together in 2015-2016.

In the second quarter of tonight's Knicks-Magic game, the teams scored 15 points. Not 15 points a piece. 15 points combined. Setting the record for fewest points in a quarter.

Raps lock up home-court advantage in the first round.
Blazers, despite winning the Northwest, will be the #4 seed, but will open up on the road against the Spurs or Rockets.

I hope they don't touch it. It's strategy. If you have a player on the floor who can't hit free throws and you need to start piecing a comeback together as quick as possible, I have no issue with the hack-a-player strategy. Either the player needs to get better at making free throws or the coach needs to get him off the floor. A few weeks back, the Celtics were getting thumped by the Clippers, but they started hacking DeAndre Jordan late in the fourth quarter. Jordan missed eight of 10 attempts from the charity stripe, but the Celtics couldn't do anything offensively to really cut into the lead. But I at least liked the strategy. What else should they do? Let the Clippers dribble around, burn 20 seconds off the shot clock, then pull up for a jumper or drive the lane? No, you foul Jordan as soon as the ball is in play, watch him clang his freebies, then get the ball back and try to make something happen. It's like a baseball player who has an obvious hole in his swing. If he can't hit breaking balls down and away, you do nothing but throw him breaking balls low and outside. That's not on the team employing the strategy, it's on the player to either fix his swing or the manager to call for a pinch hitter.

Would never have guessed at the start of the season that the Celtics would be in the playoffs and the Hornets & Heat wold both be out.

I think it's absolutely horseshit what the Cavs did today.
I get that you're set in the two-spot, but in resting LeBron, Kyrie, Love and JR, you gave a game away to the Celtics, who are life and death for the playoffs.
Then, David Blatt has the balls to say after the game that all four will return tomorrow night against the Pistons.
Your guys are tired and need a day off? How about you give it to them in a meaningless game against a team already eliminated from playoff contention, rather than in a game of consequence?
If I'm the Pacers, Nets or Heat, I'm incensed.

Resting players is some bullshit. On those great Bulls teams Jordan was playing every night. Actually outside of 2 seasons where he was injured and the one where he returned from baseball Jordan played just about every night.

It's not the Cavs responsibility for other teams. They can take care of their own damn business.

If I'm the Pacers, Nets or Heat, I'm incensed. Miami has 35 wins and still has a shot at making the playoffs. 35 freaking wins and they've got a shot. Those teams want to be mad, they're going to finish with a losing record, and one of them will get a playoff spot. Take care of business on other nights, it's not the responsibility of the top seeded teams to do the work for them. This isn't the West where someone with a winning record isn't making the playoffs. Of course now that I typed that watch Memphis face a depleted Golden State team to get them the 2 seed in the West over the Clippers.

My theory is LeBron wants to face Boston so he's letting them get that #7 seed. If it's Cavs vs. Celtics as 2 vs. 7 I really want an upset.

I know it must suck if you're a Grizzlies player because you've been excellent all season and might get stuck with the sixth seed, but I think I'd be thrilled to play the Rockets in Round 1

Here's a 'Believe it or Not' fact:
This year will mark the first time since 1967 that the Celtics make the playoffs in a season the Bruins don't
