My boy Klay doing it again, making me a happy Rocky. A Grizzly loss today keeps the Spurs away!

I'm rooting for the Celtics because Isaiah Thomas is my favorite player in the league

1) I sincerely hope this run of the Warriors isn't one of those deals where they make noise in the regular season then fizzle out in the playoffs after burning themselves out.
2) As much as I want Dallas to win another championship. A huge part of me and it's mainly for shits and giggles, along with just to see what the NBA ratings would be if this happened. However I'd love to see something like a Memphis vs. Toronto just to see the NBA implode due to the ratings not being exciting enough.

I'd be more about Golden State if they weren't ranked this high in defensive efficiency.
That's what makes them seem different from D'Antoni's Suns.

They're incredibly healthy and their margins of victory are so huge that Stephen has been able to sit out the fourth quarter over 15 times this season. However, they're one win away from matching Dallas's record, from the year the Warriors knocked them out of the first round. Somethin' about that makes me kiiiiinda uneasy...

I'm still not 100% sold on the Warriors, they aren't playoff battle tested and that makes a difference when you're in there with a team like the Spurs that have seen and done it all. I'd be more concerned about the Hawks flaming out in the playoffs quickly though.

As much as I hate to admit it the Warriors are legit this year. They aren't just all flash and offense, they get it done on both ends of the floor.

Pierce is right though, the vast majority of young players don't have that drive that the greats like Jordan, Bird, Magic, or even Kobe had. Take a guy like LeBron, he is a freak of an athlete, and everyone tells him how great that he is, but in reality he should just be completely dominating whoever is guarding him. Him just taking over games like Jordan would when the chips are down just doesn't really happen that often. I think that a lot of guys are content with being really good and getting their millions and being fine with that. Then again maybe I'm just not with it anymore.

By virtue of their victory over Toronto tonight, the Celtics have clinched the 7-seed and a first-round matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

If there's a positive to the Pacers making the playoffs, it's that we can go back to clowning Roy Hibbert

If that's the case, then basically nobody else in the West has a chance. Really, experience isn't everything. How did that work out for the Pistons in the mid-2000s, losing 3 straight East Finals against relative playoff neophytes like the Celtics or the Cavs? The Spurs hadn't won a title in a while before last year, so all that experience doesn't basically give them a free pass to June. If Green is ice-cold from threes, it won't mean a damn thing.

The Heat are now eliminated from the playoffs. Even with the injuries, the Heat still were competitive enough to be in the playoff hunt. However, blowing double-digit leads to Milwaukee, Detroit, and Chicago cost them their season. They have no one to blame but themselves in this case.
That doesn't mean I won't root for them next season, because I'm sure next season will have a much better outcome than this year.

The Warriors do NOT want to meet the Spurs in these playoffs. If there's one team I feel has the potential to legitimately decimate them, it's the Spurs. I wouldn't even consider it an upset.

Let's go Pelicans beat the Spurs. If the Pelicans win that means the Clippers get the 2 seed in the West. If the Spurs win that means the Clippers are the 3 seed.
So the best rivalry in the NBA could be the Western Conference Finals.

Man I love it when the playoff picture isn't set in stone until the last day of the NBA season. It means that the last day still matters and people aren't just taking the night off. They still have something to play for.

even though the bottom of the East is still pretty bad, am I wrong in thinking that the NBA is starting to get deeper than ever? It seems like so many teams are actually trying to build the right way and it's working. Obviously that's not the case for all teams, but I do see more teams building the right way... of course the new owners for teams help as well.
