Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports hears the Rockies are keeping their "eyes and ears open" for potential trades involving Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez. If the Yankees had anything resembling a farm system, Troy Tulowitzki would be the perfect fit for them. They are in dire need of a shortstop, they need a right-handed bat for the middle of the order, and Tulowitzki grew up idolizing Derek Jeter. It would make all the sense in the world for the Pinstripes. Unfortunately for them, I don't think they have any prospects that would net them Troy O'Leary, let alone Troy Tulowitzki.

That's been the achilles heel of the Cashman era. The Yankees either horde all their prospects and, everyone finds out they aren't worth anything. Or they trade them away before they develop into stars and, they get past their prime aging vets. This is why the last Yankee dynasty ended in 2001!
