Of course this is probably just the Orange Goblin getting his dates mixed up again, but here we go! Hulk Hogan claims he's been chasing Steve Austin for 25 years. Bare in mind, Steve Austin didn't debut until 1989, ie 25 years ago. So the Hulkster, on top of the world at the time, was, like Apollo Creed in 'Rocky', desperate to give a young unknown a chance. A match with the champ! Brother. www.wrestlezone.com/news/523141-hulk-hogan-on-steve-austin-says-hes-been-chasing-stone-cold-for-25-years-which-divas-are-impressing-nxt-officialsHulk Hogan On Steve Austin: “ I’ve been chasing that guy for 25 years. Stone Cold Steve Austin. I would have liked to have tagged with him. And then turn on him right in the middle of it, and then he would have had to wrestle me.”

Unless he means literally chasing him. Maybe Steve Austin owes him 20 bucks or something, and Hogan follows him around the country.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hogan didn't even know Austin existed until at least 2012

Anyone remember the story how Austin wanted to face Hogan in WCW several times and was denied repeatedly until being driven to ECW/WWE?

I do think its a pity that the two only ever wrestled in a handicapped match. If it weren't for the abysmal performances hogan gave in TNA, I would probably be interested in righting that wrong at WM 31.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hogan didn't even know Austin existed until at least 2012 Hogan challenged him in like, 2007 on Raw. I believe that it was the 'homecoming' episode

Hogan must have been so, so jealous of Hacksaw Jim Duggan getting to go one on one with Austin in WCW.

Btw Hogan is probably my favourite wrestler of all time, along with Austin and Rock. I love the teller of tall tales, Jack.

Anyone remember the story how Austin wanted to face Hogan in WCW several times and was denied repeatedly until being driven to ECW/WWE? Austin's WCW sob story annoys me no end. Think of the amount of people WWE released when he was on top. What if years later they turn out to be something. I bet they wouldn't piss and moan about him or think of who the WWE release now - Cena's fault? As if Hogan's ambition was to go in and target Steve Austin. As said he probably had no idea who he was until after he Attitude era hit and even then likely spent the first 9 months calling him Steve Ogstein or something. But it seems like a chip Austin carried around on his shoulder for years or at least it was a narrative concocted by the usual poke who put two and two together and come up with five.

Hogan is just a chonric exaggerator. It's no big deal, but I really think it's done on purpose, though at this point it's just an automatic thought for him.

As far as I'm concerned, everything Hogan says is gospel. I believe his version of events about Andre dying three days after Mania 3, despite his appearances years later. So if he says he's been chasing Austin since 1989, then he has been.
