- Doctor Who. f***ing Doctor Who, man. I went from thinking, "Hey this just isn't my thing" to "I want this to disappear forever!" I think you mean according to every nerd on the internet "The Greatest Show That Ever Was The Greatest"

Citizen Kane is revered because of all of the production and cinematography techniques that it innovated. That's why it's so great.

Super Mario Bros. At one point I was a huge fan of Mario. Then one day, some jackass found out I was a Sonic fan and started acting like a real asshole about while constantly flaunting about how Mario is better than every platformer ever. He'd have the other kids gang up and make fun of me about it, all because I liked Sonic better. Even got me beat up over it. This is why I mostly hate the Mario franchise now and wouldn't shed a single tear if Nintendo were to drop dead all of a sudden. its a great franchise give it a chance and dont get hung up on shit that happned to you as a kid. I mean you've got a sonic boom picture for your avatar and wont play a mario game?

Tim Burton: Yeah the guy has made some good movies, Sleepy Hollow was easily one of his best, but then people think he is this god that can do no wrong and everything he does is instantly an epic master piece and don't you dare say anything bad about him!!!, these are usually the angsty teenagers in Jack Skeleton hoodies who are all dark and mystical etc. maybe I'm being stereotypical but I've seen my fair share of them.

I'll still play Mario from time to time, but I won't call every Mario game that comes out the second coming of Jesus Christ. I don't do that with any game, really. As for Sonic Boom, that's really just love for the cartoon. The game seems to be a broken mess.

Street Fighter IV isn't a bad game, but I'm not a fan of the journalists and fanboys who bitched about their sacred SFII cows not being in III. They were probably responsible for IV being a love letter to II. Was Alpha 3 not enough?

"Really?, I've basically waited 10 years for a 3D Street Fighter 2?" Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the SF 2 characters, but I couldn't help but feel a little disappointed that it was mainly SF 2 characters with the odd few new ones sprinkled it. Thankfully the later versions have improved the roster, though there are still characters I'm disappointed aren't there like Alex, Urien, Necro, Oro etc For what it's worth I felt 3 had cooler Character designs than 2

Final Fantasy 7. Can you believe there are people who say it's great, but never even played the game?

The internet
It should be a forum for the free exchange of ideas, drawing people closer together across cultural lines.
But it's also a place people post videos of their piranhas eating live mice.

Yes there are people who are pretty much sick of him at this point, but he does seem to still have his little worshippers out there. Most of them tend to hang out at places like deviantart mind you.

lol... "hype"? It came out in 1941, it has no hype, just reverence because of how good a film is. In 2014 a new Fast and Furious has "hype". Citizen Kane does not. I knew that was not the word I wanted to use, but I couldn't think off the top of my head what I wanted to say. Let me rephrase myself: "I can't wait until the awe and worship of this stupid boring f***ing movie finally dies down, maybe I'll try to stomach my way past the first 20 boring as f*** minutes of it." So you hate the film having not actually finished watching it? There was one poster here that single handedly made me despise Dean Ambrose. I know the exact one you mean. He doesn't seem to be around any more.

My complaint is that he just seems to be mailing it in 90% of the time.

Yeah, it's pretty much "Remake (property) in my image, cast my sister wives Johnny and Helena, rinse, repeat, sell merchandise at Hot Topic." This guy at my brother's job turned us against him by being one of the ones who insist he's still a genius, such that I couldn't enjoy the first two Batman movies (plus there was an intense Burton vs. Nolan division at the time). Fortunately that has died down a bit now. That and I realize which parts of TDK Trilogy don't hold up too.

The Dave Matthews Band. In high school everyone thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread, I am not exaggerating when I say he was 90% of my class's favorite band. Also since then, I have had friends that just could not accept that I am not a fan. Not that I ever really like his music, even when it first came out, and I never really got it. But the obsessed defensive fans I have met, only made me resent Dave Matthews.
Another, Anime and I actually used to enjoy it. Not really do to Anime fans other than a girl I dated. We lived together when Adult Swim came out and she would play FF7 all day until her stupid anime shows were on. My favorite shows on Adult Swim at the time was Sealab and Home Movies, but she wouldn't turn her damn game off until that stupid Inuyasha show was on. This of course led me to despise both Anime and FF7. Eventually I would just turn the game off before she reached a save point to watch my shows, after giving her countless changes to save her game. She was also the last "nerdy" girl I ever dated.

I don't really have any "ruined" experiences, but "soured" is a good word to describe GOTG and The Hangover. The Hangover just stunk, IMHO, but Guardians of the Galaxy was very good...........just not so freakin' good that it made babies in me, like it apparently did to millions of others who heralded its greatness. FrozenI mean I liked the movie, thought it was about as good as Princess and the Frog and Tangled but people kept going on and on about how God literally came from the Heavens and delivered Frozen as his second-coming. .....interesting analogy, because due to a policy revealed by the Frozen writers not long after the movie won its Oscars, God apparently delivered a movie that is completely (and intentionally) devoid of His name. (Apparently Disney policy nowadays bans the word "God" in any Disney movie dialogue or songs.)

The Star Wars Original Trilogy. I like them and grew up on them but there really isn't much going on during a lot of it. On the other side of the spectrum most say the Prequels suck but I find them more enjoyable than the originals to rewatch now.
