One thing on the concussion policy: Punk admits that he refused to take tests when they asked him to and that he insisted he was OK and chose to wrestle more than once with concussions -- and with broken ribs and other serious ailments. So he's as much to blame as WWE on that account. The problem is, the way the wrestling business is run, if you don't work through an injury your push will be dropped and you will forever be perceived as weak (unless you are a Golden boy of the company!). That archaic philosophy within the company has got to change. I'm not sure how legit that fear is for people at the top of the card: Cena, Orton, HHH and many others have taken time off for injuries and come right back into the main event. No reason to think Punk would lose his spot. In fact, he actually did take 2 months off and he came right back to where he was before.

I'm so glad to finally have his side. I feel even more justified in defending the guy now. Ignoring staph infections, rushing the guy back from surgeries, pulling questionable stuff with pay. The best part is that he was fired. There you go, detractors. He never quit, and even seemed open to a return until they decided to ignore all his calls and then fire him. He was fired because he quit ... he walked out before his contract was up. If I quit going to work -- key word being quit -- then I'm going to get fired. He has a lot of legitimate gripes and some that are less so, but to say he didn't quit .... listen to it again and show me the part where he says he was ever going to go back. He wasn't. So they terminated his contract.

I checked the dates, my suspension ended the day after WrestleMania, ok so I'm missing Mania" Doesn't sound like a guy who quit.

So what did he say about Jericho? Basically Punk felt like Jericho and a few others only wanted to talk to him so they could dish on their podcasts about some things they talked about in a personal conversation.

So what did he say about Jericho? Basically a couple weeks ago Chris Jericho said Punk wasn't talking to his friends inside the wrestling business anymore. Punk said that he wasn't talking to people who have an agenda to use their private conversations as profit for their podcast meaning Jericho.

I watched it. Wasn't there also something in there about Vince texting him and asking him if he was ready to come back to work? Surely you realize that he made it 100 percent clear that he wasn't coming back. He told them that. There are HR procedures, almost surely outlined in the contract, that have to be followed: someone quits performing their end of the contract, you suspend them and if they don't come back to work after that then you have to legally notify them that you consider the contract terminated with them in breach. When you walk out on your job in January and don't return by June, you have quit. A thing is what it is, it is not something else -- someone stops coming to work and doesn't return, they have quit. Fired is the word Punk used. The letter they sent probably used the word terminated (in reference to the contract) because you cannot fire a non-employee. He quit and they served legal notice that they weren't going to pay him anymore.

So what did he say about Jericho? Barely anything. Only mentions the program he had with him at one point. At the end he mentions something about Jericho saying something that he doesnt talk to people in the business, but he doesnt insult him or anything and just explains that he doesnt want to talk to people with "agendas" but doesnt single Jericho out for having one. There's not a lot of "dirt" on anyone. Its just his side of the story and what drove him away. The biggest "heels" are Ryback and HHH to a lesser extent. Vince a bit too, but his quips about Vince make Vince seem like an out of touch/clueless old man more than animosity. Its a really interesting listen and was completely engrossing. I completely understand Punk's stance and am fine with it.

Obviously he knew what was in his contract and knew he was legally clear to leave. When Foley left after Montreal, he realized they could breach him and he wouldn't get paid for work he already did, plus royalties and PPV payoffs. So Punk took one of the several Vince apparently owed him, they suspended him, dicked around with his pay for months on end, then fired him.

I haven't listened to this yet, but for now I will say that if Punk said this... on Colt Cabana's podcast... a guy who is his friend... the irony is amusing to say the least! Don't have a transcript but Punk specifically said in WWE (he might have also said in wrestling) -- because he made a point of saying he has friends who still work there and he talks to them. And, of course, he's married to one of them.

He obviously quit working for WWE of his own accord. What happened afterward is the legal fallout of that.

He, like Del Rio, was smart enough to find a lawyer who could poke holes in WWE's b.s. "independent contractor" nonsense.

More of a pipebomb than the pipebomb. Sounds like a lot of s****y stuff for Punk to deal with and a few people need a good hard look at themselves.
However, I know this is customary to say but it's true - this is Punk's side of the story. We never got the complete picture in the first place from WWE, and certainly not from guys like Hunter. So bear that in mind too.
I give Ryback's twitter account 48 hours before it's closed down again.

It disturbs me to hear allegations of WWE still being run like this in regard to health and working conditions. They are a publicly traded company that has lost so many ex-employees at a young age (2007 being the obvious tipping point) yet according to Punk (and this is just his side of the story) even the bigger stars are being run into the ground like this. Actually perhaps that last point isn't surprising at all when we consider how much time off Cena has had compared to what was expected for his injuries over the years, but I still thought they were past being run like that to that extent.

We can't know what was in his heart, but he could also be saying things for legal reasons. Still, he got fired. We still don't know the terms of his contract and obviously he won the legal battle, so he's not wrong. Morally, maybe, but you can't prove his intentions.

So weird, since I don't see John Cena crying. I think it's fair to say he's worked longer and harder than CM Punk. Why isn't John Cena bitching? Sure, he's making more money, but health-wise, isn't WWE destroying his body too? So weird how Cena stays silent about it and, well, that he continues to DO it. Man, he's a slave to the corporate machine apparently..... Yeah, we all know 300+ days a year is gruelling for ANYONE. That wasn't a newsflash by any means. But gee, yep, who knew, not every human body handles it the same way. Huh.
