IF Hogan and Bichoff didn't come to TNA that wouldn't change the fact that an idiot money mark is in charge of the company and would have found a way to run it into the ground. If rumors are to be believed Russo's incident had at least a little to do with with the decision to drop them from spike. BichHUlk had nothing to do with that. Russo was also on a tear, booking TNA's best stuff in ages in 2009 before Hogan and Bisch came in and made Russo go bye-bye. I don't understand how the logical decision after Hogan and Bischoff had left was not to try and bring Russo back and recapture what he had going then. There's a lot of finger pointing to be done at Russo but this is not one of them. While those two months were great it is hardly because of Russo. He knew he was out the door or losing power once Hogan came in so he gave the fans what they wanted to try and save his ass. If he believed that the style he booked then drew, he'd have used it in the 9 other years he had control. Dixie had gone back to the Russo well more than any other style to absolutely no reward. He holds a lot of responsibility for TNA's current situation as well. Bischoff and Hogan deserve a ton of the blame to for feeding Dixie and Spike a ton of shit about how they could get them to 2 million viewers if they could do any number of disastrous ideas that crippled TNA and soured Spike on their relationship.

Honestly I don't think Russo is about what "draws" or not. I think the man genuinely gets incredibly bored really easy and just goes "f*** it, chicken on a pole match."

Will take this little opportunity to say that one of the things that still bugs me about the whole Hogan era was that Dixie Carter pretty much threw everything but the kitchen sink to Hogan when she didn't have to-she had so much potential leverage that she failed to use. I believe Hogan himself said that he had parted ways with WWE (again) because he wanted to be top dog (again!) and Vince McMahon had turned him down, and when he protested that Hulk Hogan was the biggest name in wrestling, Vince had told him "You're not the only big name out there." If WWE was not willing to meet Hogan's price, why on earth would a promotion that has nowhere near WWE's assets try to? Obviously you are not going to pay a star like Hogan peanuts, but if WWE isn't willing to take him back, you should use that to negotiate the best price you can afford because where else was he going to do? And its not like TNA was hurting for legendary name talent at the time either-they had Foley, Flair, Sting, Nash, Steiner, Booker T, and Angle. If all of those guys were content with what they were being paid, why would you give Hogan special treatment? It really feels like Dixie Carter walked into the deal with Hogan as an overgrown mark with stars in her eyes rather than as a businesswoman trying to get the most value for her money.

TNA would had TNA'd things regardless if Hogan and Bischoff was there or not. What hurt TNA was completely stripping Double J of power and Dixie becoming even more hands on with the company.

Desmond W love was over a Schitt IN 2009. He went over Daniels, AJ and Kurt Angle(it's how you lose and he went lick for lick with Kurt Angle on live TV then PPV aka Kurt put him over). That. London. Brawling crap was not going to work and oh by the way Hogan or not, Desmond/Nigel still would have been out of TNA in 11 because of whatever health issue it was. He had a good year. They drew ratings records for themselves in 09. PPV made a little coin and were getting better venues with good cards without Hogan. So I do believe the promotion would have done well without them. The growth each of the four years prior to Hogan/Bischoff is amazing. They hit a new milestone every few months. The accelerator was hit under Hogan and Bischoff. That hurt them because they never got return on what was out in. Too much too soon. The company was not ready. I don't blame her ft taking a shot. They were hot and if the right catalyst is used they could have exploded. It fizzled. I blame the Monday switch more than the booking. Hell I actually liked some of the things they were doing at first(didn't last). Pope was on a roll before they came in. They cooled his jets almost immediately and I have zero idea why

Daniels....Main eventer...... possible world champion? I'd say so. He was clearly moving into the full time Main Eventer position and it looked like we were getting there as far as a championship run goes. Though Daniels has always said he preferred being the one chasing titles rather than winning them so maybe not. Sad to think that a month after Hogan/Bischoff came in he went from Main Eventer to jobbing out to Val Venis
