This is exactly what I had called for a couple of pages ago... show the movie in select smaller or independent theaters. It might piss off the big chains, but they made the choice not to show the film.

It's being shown at Alamo Draft House theaters. Huzzah.

While it's good that it's being released, please keep in mind, that in all probability, it sucks.

Oh how "surprising"
What a marketing gimmick. Makes me sick
Not to say the hack wasn't real, but they manipulated it brilliantly.

I'm beginning to wonder if Sony just made up all the hacks in the first place.

I'm beginning to wonder if Sony just made up all the hacks in the first place. I somehow doubt it would've escalated as far as it did if this was all a promotional tactic.

I don't think they made up the hacks, but at the same time, I really don't think North Korea did it, either.

I'm beginning to wonder if Sony just made up all the hacks in the first place. I doubt it since making false terror threats is sorta illegal.

I don't think the people who are claiming this was a marketing gimmick have thought this through. Limit release as opposed to a general release isn't going to make them more money.

Seth Rogen moves make enough money that you don't need any fake terrorist threats to give it a boost. I'd have believed this to possibly be a viral thing if all that happened was the emails got out but this went way too far to have marketing stink on it. I do think the film itself is in a tight spot from a critical standpoint because even though I expect it to be funny, it's definitely gonna be an "all that over this?" situation.

It's being shown at Alamo Draft House theaters. Huzzah. Further proves that we need like 10,000 more Alamo Drafthouse's across the country.

Dammit this movie better come to Canada outside of Toronto/Montreal. Seth Rogen is Canadian and caused this mess so bring it over here Sony

I found what I think is a full list of places playing it on Christmas: www.mediaite.com/online/full-list-of-theaters-showing-the-interview-starting-christmas-day/Anyone know if there is a more comprehensive list out there? There is no way I'll be able to see this on Christmas (have to work), but I'd like to catch it sometime. Hopefully before the end of the year. This is a movie I'd be super interested in seeing even without all the controversy, but I have a feeling it could get yanked or not be in theaters too long. I'm hoping it plays at the theater in Randolph, MA sometime soon. I live right down the street and it is a quality theater. I really don't feel like going to Cambridge to see it unless I know the theater has good parking and traffic isn't a bitch that day.
