Sony will make more money on this movie not being in the theaters. Just feel it.

I can't believe it played out like this. Terrorist threats over a movie... Incredible amounts of bullshit.

Also New Regency is cancelling production on a Gore Verbinski North Korean thriller starring Steve Carell.

Sadly unsurprising. Fringe group threatens violence, says to jump. Entertainment industry asks how high.

Also New Regency is cancelling production on a Gore Verbinski North Korean thriller starring Steve Carell. And now this shit has gone passed the "getting out of hand" stage. I highly doubt it even was the North Koreans behind these hacks in the first damn place! It was probably just some pissed off ex-Sony employees.

It's kind of absurd that this film gets all the terror threats, while Team America, made 10 years ago, didn't harbor similar feelings. And that film had Americans blowing up North Koreans, who were the villains of the film. Team America was outwardly satirical of American interventionism. Yes, the North Koreans were "antagonists" but the premise of the movie wasn't about doing an assassination. Also, pre-rise of social media and all that.

CNN: Report coming tomorrow confirming that NK is the source of the hack If it truly is North Korea behind all this, I'll be rather surprised, considering how behind the times they seem to be in...well a lot of things.

CNN: Report coming tomorrow confirming that NK is the source of the hack Speculation this morning was Korea did the hacking, but a different group is doing the terrorising.

Wow I am stunned that they're cancelling it. Has anything like this happened before?
Al Qaeda made a "Kill George Bush" video game and no one did anything. Watch North Korea make their own version of the Interview just to continue the mindf***.

I had a good laugh when some people online and some talking heads said this was some sort of act of war.
Yes, let's all go to war over Seth Rogan. That'll solve everything.
As far as this goes, they're free to show or pull whatever they want but this isn't good practice.

So if I put my Team America DVD in tonight, will I be murdered in my home?
.......also, after I saw the above "CNN confirming" comment I saw a headline on Google News stating "North Korea most definitely not involved". And then the post just above, confirming.
The media: it's shit.

Honestly, after the Dark Knight Rises shooting, I can't fault theaters from pulling the movie. The two don't correlate. The DKR shooting was perpetuated by a wacko American. It also wasn't driven by the movie. He chose that movie because he knew it was going to be packed and it came out at the time he was ready to do what he did. This situation (The Interview) has been blown completely out of proportion. You can hack a computer from anywhere in the world. North Koreans actually getting into this country and perpetuating violence b/c of a film's content? The chance of this actually occurring is so far fetched that the threats are laughable. Christ himself was more likely to show up for a screening than anything actually occurring. This sets an awful precedent. What's to stop other extremist groups from threatening to have something cancelled and having a huge multinational conglomerate bow down to their demands? It's been done now and its ridiculous. Remember all the talk after terrorist attacks about letting them "win"? This is what has happened here. This is exactly what they wanted. My bet is this cancellation has absolutely NOTHING to do with these threats. I would not be surprised whatsoever if China put pressure on Sony financially or other "powers that be" put pressure on Sony similarly. As for the movie, I didn't care to see it, but the fact one place would decide not to show it for "safety reasons" should be lambasted and not lauded. Its an overreaction of epic proportions. North Koreans attacking movie theatres. C'mon. That's a Broken Lizard or Trey Parker vehicle waiting to happen. Anyway, Judd Apatow (who Im not a fan of artistically) nailed it here.
