Anyone else get weirded out by it? I don't like it. I tend to look at anything else such as my phone, the floor, or someone in the distant background. I feel like they're singing me a love song as they speak to me staring into my eyes.

Depends on the person and the context for me.

I'm terrible for it
I rarely make eye contact, even when face to face with someone.
I don't mean to be rude it's just something I don't feel comfortable with.

I focus back a little and stare at their face as a whole.

I don't like prolonged eye contact. I make initial contact (like a greeting or whatever), but keeping the eye contact is just awkward for me.

I have mastered the skill of looking like I am making eye contact but I'm really not.

Of course I make eye contact. Not for too long, but if I'm trying to make a point or communicate some key information I will definitely do it.
Intimacy, its not just for lovers.

I used to be like that but I managed to force myself to make more eye contact, unfortunately I went too far the other way when it comes to one-on-one conversations and now there are times I have to consciously stop myself from crossing over into creepy staring (thankfully it's OK in groups).

I don't care. I'll look at you.
It's only polite if you're being spoken to or something.
There was a time when it bothered me, but I'm just too old. Look at me. Think about what I'm thinking about what you're thinking or whatever. It's fine.
It doesn't mean I run around checking everybody out, but if you confront me with yourself, then I can deal with you.

I hate when I am talking to someone and they are looking at their phone or whatever.

I usually always do, but I'll look away if I make the contact too long.

Working in the hospitality industry, apparently eye contact is important. I never did it because it makes me feel uncomfortable. Until I got some heated review from a guest who says although I am nice, and I "seem" to go out of my way to make her comfortable it just doesn't feel sincere since I do not make eye contact. This was years ago, but it has stuck with me since I hate getting bad reviews.
So now I stare into people's eyes. Because apparently that's what the people want.

I am alot better at it than I used to be though, but I still suck at it.

Being the supervisor of about 35 people means I had to get used to it, despite not really liking it. I do it for their sake, since no eye contact makes you look less serious.

I can't do it and neither can my son. His teachers think it's a problem and I'm not sure if it may be a symptom of aspbergers syndrome.

more people seem to pay attention to you if you make eye contact when talking to them, which is handy in retail.
