Been thinking about this.
For WWF to WCW I think it may have been Jeff Jarrett in 1999. I can't really remember WCW poaching a big WWF star after that.. Well this was just as the big WCW downfall began I guess it would of been difficult to attract anyone.
As for WCW to WWF.. I think it may be Steven "William" Regal in mid 2000. Yeah I know he was in WWF before in a crappy gimmick. But he did return to WCW after going through some personal demons forming a English stable. But then Regal was not really pushed during his last days in WCW. He then returned to WWF and given a bigger push with a gimmick more suiting to him.
Another defection which might have been the last before WCW went bust was Haku/Meng who made surprising appearence at the 2001 Royal Rumble if I remember correctly. I did not rank that above Regal cause WWE did not really use him much.
Anyone know of others?

I think you've covered it there on the WCW side mate, I can't think of any
From 2000 onwards, they had a massive influx of their powerplant guys & seemed to get most of their talent from ECW & the indies

Didn't Jerry Lawler quit over the Kat's firing with the intention of heading to WCW right at the very end only to have nothing come of it due to their collapse?

I think Road Dogg was on his way to WCW right before it died.

Haku was the Hardcore Champion, right? Yeah, and no one actually wanted to ask him for the belt because they were scared of him, I think he gave it to someone though I can't remember who.

Yes, he gave it to the Barbarian but I don't think it was ever defended after that. In fact, I don't know if the Barbarian was ever on television after that.

Didn't know about Lawler wanting to head to WCW when the Kat got fired. Although they were all but dead anyway, so I can't understand why Jerry would've thought that'd be a good idea. I do think Haku was the last defection of any sort. Haku was the Hardcore Champion, right? Yeah, and no one actually wanted to ask him for the belt because they were scared of him, I think he gave it to someone though I can't remember who. Actually Haku wasn't under contract at the end of his WCW run. Which is why WWF signed him and he moved over so quick. He barely, if at all, gave WCW notice. He gave the belt to Barbarian (his legit friend) when he got the WWF offer, to give the belt back to WCW. WCW responded by just retiring the hardcore title.

Did the Road Dogg ever show up on WCW TV? I recall that he did actually sign a contract, probably helped his brothers were there.

I don't think Jerry thought of it as a viable option, though I don't doubt he considered going to WCW after quitting. He was outraged about Kat's firing, which he felt at the time to be unwarranted and bullshit, and I don't think he was really hurting for money, anyway, and could always just run shows in Memphis. Leaving was the main thing on his mind, with where to actually go being an afterthought.

The loss of Haku was the nail in the coffin for WCW.
When you lose your most legit badass tough guy...it's hard to win a fight.

Wow, I barely barely remember Road Dogg signing with WCW but not actually doing anything. That's totally something they'd have done (see: Lanny Poffo). I know he he was fired from WWE but was Shawn Stastiak the last person to go from the one company to the other or was there somebody else afterwards Shawn Stasiak returned in 2001 as part of the WCW buyout (he was one of the 20 or so people whose contracts were part of the deal). Those don't count in this thread, I reckon.

But no one knows who that is 13 years later. In 13,000 years, the cyborg zombie-gods of Earth Realm VIII will still quake in fear at the sound of the name "Haku."

Stasiak going to WCW was rather early in the game (very late 1999/very early 2000, I think?) and there were still lots of people in 2000-1 bouncing around.

Jeff Jarrett was never a big defection. He was a mid card snoozer. Nobody ever cared much about Jarrett
