As others have said, it won't make a dent in the Raw audience because they're targeting the wrong people. Wouldn't it be better to just focus on getting their own audiences and reputation?

What exactly are they boycotting? Are they trying to convince management to improve the quality of the show? Unless they're trying to promote change, then all they're doing is pushing their own work. Directly from the facebook page "I guess a lot of people are more fixated on the name "Boycott RAW" than the purpose of this historic presentation. Well, let me explain... I work my "shoot job" on Monday nights so I don't even get a chance to watch Monday Night RAW live like everybody else. However, I am privy to social media, and the feedback on WWE's flagship program seems to indicate that now, more-so than ever, the stories are confusing, the action is tepid, and the format is stale. As someone who has dedicated much of his adult life to professional wrestling, my biggest fear is that when fans become dissatisfied with the industry leader, they will give up on the genre altogether. The purpose of "Boycott RAW" isn't to get fans to stop watching WWE. The purpose of "Boycott RAW" is to get the internet wrestling community to band together for one night to raise awareness for the mainstream alternatives. If you are unhappy with what you see on your TV every Monday night, please don't stop supporting professional wrestling. Tune in to "Boycott RAW" on 1/19/15 and thrust yourself head first into the indie scene. We are teaming with a dozen of the most prominent independent wrestling promotions in North America to broadcast some of the best matches of 2014 to a worldwide audience." I think it's a good idea to reach out to those fans who feel turned off my the modern product by giving them a gateway into the Indy scene. I'm going to be really interested to see some of these matches, especially what my local company 2CW throws in there. Knowing quite a few of these companies I can all but guarantee that these matches are going to be top notch. Fair enough

At least six of those have to be efeds. I've actually heard of all but one ( seriously, the f*** is Alpha-1?) of those promotions before and can ensure you that none of them are e-feds. There is a Cali fed called HOODSLAM. Apparently they're based in southern Canada. They used a black Tommy Pickles to represent Cedric Alexander in the hype video for their next show, so I like them already.

Sounds like it'll be a cool show. I work Monday nights, so it doesn't effect me, as I watch Raw the next morning anyway, so I'll be sure to catch both, if they make theirs available after the fact. I'm the type who hasn't gotten a chance to wade into the indy waters often. I couldn't afford mail away tapes when I was young and now that the internet has made nearly everything available, I've only poked around on youtube. This could serve the purpose it intends and draw me into one or more of these indy feds or guys.

Hell of a line-up for a recently started promotion, still.

A few local singers in New York, some kids miming in front of their bathroom mirrors, and some people who like to tap their foot while listening to songs just announced they will boycott Beyonce's next concert in the city.

Kid: Mommy, why does the same guy keep wrestling in each match?
Mom: They're different people, son.
Kid: Are you SURE?!?

So... They're calling it Boycott Raw because it has nothing to do with boycotting Raw? Seems like they could have both a more accurate and more catchy name if they went with Rawternative.

There's a hoodslam promotion around here that actually tried to "guerrila market" their own promotion by walking around outside of a WWEh house show with a megaphone talking about how "If you want to see REAL wrestling, come to a Hoodslam show." type stuff. The whole thing was pretty tacky and kinda put me off them as a whole. That being said, this "boycottRAW" thing sounds like a poorly concieved attempt to attract attention to indies. I agree with Lizuka #BLM that #RAWternative or something like that would work better, but I guess it wouldn't be as attention grabby as "boycottRAW." And, on the other side of the coin, its a pittance compared to the kind of carny BS WWE has pulled in the past so...yeah.

If a tree falls in the forest.. In this particular case I'd actually try to find said tree to see what it's all about.
