I think the idea is very good way to promote indies, especially since a lot of people know of a few (I actually follow AIW on twitter) but don't know the rest, so this should get great publicity.
I just really hate the name because it's there solely to turn heads, but it's got nothing to actually do with boycotting RAW. You could watch Boycott RAW and watch RAW at the same time quite easily.

#boycottcrapyindieswithshittyproductionvalues
I mean not all indie wrestling sucks, there's alot of good stuff, but you have to wade through official footage that looks like it was shot on a cell phone (seriously in 2014), listen to some overexcited mark who knows the name of 10000000000000 moves but doesn't know the first thing about putting talent or a match over or storytelling yammer on over it, not to mention the wrestlers who can execute 100000000 impressive moves but can't get me invested in a match nor do they know how to structure a match or get any heat.
no thanks. not all indie wrestling is like that, but the vast majority seems to be. I like what Chikara are doing, but even trying to watch the first show after their reboot is impossible for a new fan to follow.

Streaming to a worldwide audience they say? At least that puts them ahead of the WWE network.

Streaming to a worldwide audience they say? At least that puts them ahead of the WWE network. *rimshot* The date is significant, of course: it'd be the go-home RAW heading into the Rumble. Were the Authority still on top of things, I'd be inclined to boycott Raw by that point with or without an alternative. But, we're expecting a few returns at least, not to mention call-ups, so there's a possibility that that Raw will actually be okay. Picture-in-picture would be nice to have, mind you.

I know every single one of these companies, and all of them have great talent and can put on some great shows. Beyond, 2CW, AAW, AIW, St. Louis Anarchy and C*4 are Highly Recommended for the talent and matches they have alone, Beyonds matches are all over Youtube for free, give them a watch you wont regret it. ISW and HOODSLAM are also great, and are 100% Insanity most of the time with crazy gimmicks. As many said here I don't think they'll put a huge dent in WWE's audience but this may get the companies some new fans and publicity, and for that more power to them.

It's an attempt at grabbing attention, but that's fine. Good for them, hope it works out well.

Been better if they called the event #Rediscover the Indies because the target audience they are catering towards already are boycotting Raw or just watching to fuel their venom towards WWE.

Y'see those bolded parts? Together, they make sense. This sounds like such a TNA move.

The nonsensical "boycott" part (seriously, it's like Moxie and Dr. Thunder announcing a boycott of Pepsi) being eliminated won't help or hinder this. There's a good germ of an idea somewhere in all of it, but there's no real way this can work in any capacity.

I usually boycott at least 2/3rds of Raw in the sense that I'm doing literally anything else. It's not a case of any sort of stance though, it's just a result of being really bored.

Had to look this up to bump it, especially after last night.
Alpha-1 is fielding Ricochet vs. Josh Alexander and 2CW is contributing Chris Hero vs. Colin Delaney.

Alpha-1 is fielding Ricochet vs. Josh Alexander and 2CW is contributing Chris Hero vs. Colin Delaney....the idea for it is more reasonable if it's not an outright Raw boycott...but, uh, 2CW DOES know that contributing a match between a former WWE developmental talent and a former WWE roster member...uh, kind of defeats the purpose of of discovering new indy talent, right?

why not do this on a Friday in Smackdowns old time slot when it moves?
Smackdown had a huge audience for Cable on a Friday Night, some of those people have to be seeking a replacement.
