TALK ABOUT A NIGHT ON THE TOWN!!!" If Reigns randomly came out carrying a cane and wearing a top hat I could get much more behind his push.

Not really, but all this talk about "taking spots away" is making me almost hate Daniel Bryan.

Looking back at the Shield, I remember how cool and awesome I felt those three guys were separately and how badass they were as a concept. I could never imagine my perception of Reigns changing so much from when he was with the Shield not even a year ago. We talk about the WWE screwing up with Cesaro cause after Mania they kept giving him a hot potato that he had to handle without trying to burn himself but looking at Reigns, their booking of him has not been great either and that's by going to the opposite root of overprotecting him. In short lately everything they touch turns to poison. I wish they would pull back a bit on the whole thing but I'm not sure how. Maybe for him it would be good to say...face Brock and have a good showing but losing. I think this would give him a ton of respect and cred. Another way would be to pull back on his mega face push would be to have him turn heel for a while. Just so he can learn his craft and wait for the right moment to make him your Top face. There's a serious problem with Reigns' being a heel as a singles wrestler: How is he going to carry offense in matches? Thats gonna be an awful lot of stomping and restholds. I would think it wouldn't be a wimpy Flair-like heel that bumps everywhere but more like a monster heel-type. What they could do is have a three-way at Mania between Brock, Reigns and Bryan. Bryan win the title, yet Reigns gets a good showing. Now from there, Reigns could get his heel turn this way: the way Bryan win is that Brock is about to do something to Reigns, Heyman prevents him to do it, Reigns do something to Brock and Bryan do a big knee on Reigns who falls on the side of the ring and Bryan pin Brock for the win. After the match Brock is pissed off at Heyman, wants to beat him but is attacked by Reigns who just destroys Brock(physically and with objects). Heyman would be a great mouth piece for Reigns going forward. Of course Heyman would turn cause Brock is leaving and need to think about the future.

Not really, but all this talk about "taking spots away" is making me almost hate Daniel Bryan. At least if it doesn't work out for him Reigns can get a sponsorship deal with Clearasil

It would be a downside but it'd be savable. When fans see someone in the main event usually it sticks, at least for a while. Even if fans don't take to him he'll be very likely to enjoy a run for the rest of the year as someone else added to the main event pool. Quickly switch to Cena or Bryan and have Reigns as the top heel. If someone else wins the title at Mania - another face - that's really it in terms of the ME until they lose it. If you don't pull the trigger and he lingers and then fans tire of him and then by the time we get to SS the moment has gone and nobody is talking about him being the next world champ then you lose everything. Maybe giving him the title isn't no risk but I think even if it doesn't work out there's still likely to be something savable from it in that those who fans see as a main eventer (even if they boo him) is beefed up. IMO that's preferable to the vein hope that they can keep his momentum burning for a year, which is much more difficult. Especially as if it doesn't wrk you've Bryan and Cena to take over at no notice anyway. Or, and this goes back to what I think is everyone's original point, slow down all the forward chugging motion to a speed that is on par with his skills so that no one tires of him anywhere (as the progress and exposure would match the level he's on) and then when you take that leap to the next phase, it's better received? I'm not trying to say the guy is totally hated on right now, but it's not like his reactions, especially as his matches go on, are blowing the roof off the place. What's the rush? Whoops, sorry. Didn't mean to quote you

Omg you guys... I just read this whole thing...
Seems like the biggest problem WWE has, is that the internet has let armchair booking run so rampant that we are now fantasy booking months and years in advance, beyond even what the writers of the damn TV show have planned.
Why can't we talk about wrestling like other TV shows - what's going to happen NEXT EPISODE. There's still an entire PPV and 3 months of RAW and Smackdown after the Rumble to develop these stories.
Acting like Roman Reigns is facing Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania is already 4 giant leaps in assumptions (Lesnar will have the title, Reigns will win Rumble, it will be a title match, there is no storyline between now and Mania beyond 'rumble winner -> main event of Mania'), and not only are we making 4 assumptions in a row, we are going beyond that and assuming Reigns is winning AND he won't have chemistry with Brock AND he won't have a compelling story AND the crowd will hate him AND IT COULD RUIN HIS CAREER AND TURN HIM INTO THE NEXT VLAD f***IN KOSLOV! Oh and apparently Mania is TOMORROW or it already happened depends on how angry the guy you ask is about it.
Calm the hell down. Reigns is a badass and he has been working his ass off to return from injury and perform for us. Like that other guy said earlier, we should all get off his dick and just focus on the story WWE is telling right now. Who cares if he isn't ready right now.
Hell, the way the story is going, freakin Randy freaking Orton could be winning the rumble, and Cena, Ziggler, Ryback, and Rowan are fighting HHH, Kane, Rollins, and Big Show at Mania. We have a lot of story to get through, and everyone in WWE steps their game up in the Road to Wrestlemania (*points at sign*).
Reigns, Rollins, Ambrose, Rusev, Ziggler, Bryan, Ryback, Miz, Sheamus, Barrett, Wyatt, Sandow... These are your main event players for the next decade. It doesn't matter who gets there first. You better pray you don't get sick of Roman freaking Reigns BEFORE HE WINS HIS FIRST WORlD TITLE. They are ALL going to be here a long time.

We're not unique, fans discussing other TV shows often talk about how their finale is shaping up, WM is our finale.

We're not unique, fans discussing other TV shows often talk about how their finale is shaping up, WM is our finale. Fair point, but there's a lot of talk and assumptions being made as if the story is jumping right from "Cena got Ziggler & Co. fired!" to "That means Reigns is winning the Rumble!" to "Reigns and Lesnar are fighting in the main event of Mania!" to "Reigns isn't ready for that spot, brother!" without realizing that things change every week. For instance, Cena vs Lesnar was the title match at the beginning of this thread, and by this point in the thread, Rollins is now in the match, with a MITB case, increasing the odds that Rollins will be champion by the next PPV. Is Reigns ready to face Rollins for the title? Maybe his 'readyness' isn't based on 'can he be the top guy on the show and usher in a new 'Boom Period'(tm). Maybe they are just writing the natural story of - "Rollins used his Authority goodwill to sneak into a world title, and his former friend is in a great position to stop him".
