Apologies if this has already been posted but in case anyone hasn't heard, direct from WWE.Com today
A few notable problems with this statement -
(1) Sky have just increased all of their PPV prices by roughly 25% (2) Sky have also announced no free PPVs as previously discussed
(these are both most likely the agreed outcomes from the WWE's delayed network launch issue)
(3) £9.99 a month is roughly a third higher in price than the rest of the world ($9.99 = around £6.54) (4) No free month (for the removal of the November launch date) (5) The network is 3 months late and nothing to cover it.
It's so frustrating that someone like WWE can treat such an important section of their regular and loyal audience in that kinda way, and be able to say "who cares, they'll still lap it up". And what sucks even more is that there's no way in the world of getting WWE to realise how angry their fans are as like many large companies there's no effective public forum or contact for anyone of any remote importance in the company!
With Sony's recent... issues with the PSN going down despite it not being their fault they still offered a 10% discount and additional subscription days, but WWE just don't seem to care do they?
Drives me insane, sorry for the rant, any advice on effective ways to get the message across to the 'E?

They're not going to give you January for free considering it's the Royal Rumble

The UK should expect to pay more for things and should not be shocked by it. After all, the EU is going to bleed them dry over the next 5 years. UK fans you can fly to my house in the USA to watch the network if it will save you euros. Or are you still using pounds?

Anyway, they better bloody well come through with it this time, especially seeing as they've cut us off from NXT now. Annoyed by the fact it's more than $9.99, seeing as that's £6, and not much more than I pay for Netflix. I'll have to wait and see if it's worth the investment, I.E if they give us the proper version of it.

For the people complaining- being fair, NJPW World's launch at 999 yen is a bigger proof of the amount than WWE Network is. If it's just WWE Network, it's one thing- but New Japan's launch for a separate service has just made it clear that 9.99 in local currency is the current price point for VOD wrestling.

I will get the Network but it should be the same for all fans. People should not pay more for the same. I just wanna give Sky the middle finger more, lol.

It IS the same for all fans- 9.99, as a flat rate. If WWE were to make it equal exactly to $9.99 in US dollars, then you have to deal with the fact that exchange rates for currency fluctuate day to day- if not as low as second to second as the stock markets are open- meaning the price could change at any time of the day. Having one set, uniform price for the entire world just bypasses these currency fluctuations and makes it easier for the consumer in the long run. (If that's still not enough for the UK fans, admit it- you know in your hearts if the situation was reversed and $6.50 in US dollars was equal to 9.99 in Euros, none of you would shed one tear for American Network subscribers.)

As I said in the other thread you had the 99 cents cheeseburger in the US and the 99p cheeseburger here. The fact '.99' has a different value in both territories it doesn't change the basics of flat-price promotion for your biggest markets. They didn't do the 61p cheeseburger here. US and the UK are often tied that way by companies that promote in both territories because of the shared language we're often considered the same market for advertisers.
I expect Sky will make it difficult for WWE to promote the Network launch on their programming and will edit out mentions of it as it now directly conflicts with the service they offer on Sky Box Office. Only time we may hear of it on television might be on the live shows themselves that can't be edited by Sky. Unless they buy commercial time somewhere - they didn't do that in the US but then again in the US they could shill on their programming until their hearts content. Might have an issue doing that here.

I'm fine with the price, fine for the content received, can't wait to sub and watch my first PPV since WrestleMania LIVE on the WWE Network for just £9.99!
Looking forward to it for sure

Uhhhh, 999 yen is 5.49p and $8.39. And they just dumped everything they had already onto it, they aren't putting stuff on there at a glacier pace.

So we get the network finally and you still bitch? No pleasing some people. Probably because the last time they officially announced it the price was approximately £6.40 with a free month, two months later it has somehow increased to £9.99 with no free month. You seriously don't understand why people are pissed off about it?

This might be a bit of an idiotic question but getting the network in time for royal rumble has sealed the deal for me! My question is do I have to watch that event live? I'll be working early on the Monday so can't justify sitting up to watch it. Will I conceivably be able to watch it after work on the Monday (before temptation becomes too much and I check out spoilers) or do I have to wait several weeks before it becomes available again to watch? Do they repeat the shows?

I have no problem with the price. Isn't 10 bucks basically the equivelent of 10 pounds when you think about it?
