This must be their way of building heat against The Authority. I can think of no other logical explanation.

Sorry, I don't buy it. Next week is the College Football Championship, so this was a week to convince people not to watch that game.
They failed.

I was going to make this topic at the end of the show. Brutally painful to watch especially when you have to stay up until 4am.

"Dear FAN,
Suck my dick.
Love, Vincent Kennedy McMahon"
"P.S. Kevin Dunn is going to give Finn Balor a drunken Irishman gimmick and jobbed him out to Sheamus when he debuts on Raw."

I thought it was alright story-wise, actually. The matches were meh, but whatever. Also, intro and pyro!

It's The HHH and Stephanie Show.
You know, someday everyone in the fanbase will realize that the "HHH and Stephanie Show" label means that it's shit. Someday.....
It *may* have been fresh in 2000, but 15 years later it's stale and moldy and thus your sanity is questioned for not flushing the toilet ages ago.

Yes, and I think it was to push the Authority's tyranny. However, two things:
1) If they're going to book it like that, make it entertaining at least. I usually don't complain about RAWs week to week, but this one seemed especially boring and half-assed.
2) Building this authority this big for this long, when it's time for the comeuppance, make it big, bombastic and with a sense of finality. Bryan defeated Triple H and Orton at Mania, and yet the Authority still remained. Ziggler won the SS match for his team, getting rid of the authority, and yet here they are again a month later.
If this was an engaging fresh storyline where Triple H wasn't the smart alecky all powerful authority figure,a primary protagonist was pushed as the one hope, with this all leading to one final cathartic nail in the coffin at WM, then that would be one thing, but at the moment all of those boxes are not checked, with the latter one seeming to be a huge question mark.

It's sad when RAW gets so bad this is actually a semi honest question.

The irony is that the past month I thought they were tanking Raw's quality intentionally for people to want The Authority to come back so that something relevant would occur. Now they are putting on show's deliberately awful to make you want them to go away again.

I think they honestly think what they're doing is good TV. It absolutely sucks dick in my opinion. Most of the matches are the same thing week in and week out. The Authority isn't entertaining at all. They are total shit. Boring and dull shit is exactly what they are. I'm sick of looking at Seth Rollins in that ridiculous outfit and hearing his nasal sounding voice. I'm sick of Big Shit Vs. Reigns and watching the Usos in general. The Ascension sucks and the whole Rusev build is brutally boring. Finally...the whole Cena storyline is pathetic. I don't feel sympathy for him...I still hate him.
There's nothing good about any of this mess.

I didn't even think it was a bad show. If anything, I would say that was the best Raw in a while. Awful ending that made the faces look like trash but I didn't have much of a problem with the rest of the show.

I had a strange theory last night that maybe WWE makes their show intentionally not the best so people will tweet about it. If its TOO good then people will be too enthralled to be on social media talking about it. You know how obsessed wwe is with trending.
They want it to be just on the good side of bland so that most people can still tweet about it (but they underestimate about bland they can be). Even if people are complaining about it on that hashtag, they'll still end up trending.

They probably try on some shows to make it boring so when they do pull off a great program, people will be much more excited and interested.

They probably try on some shows to make it boring so when they do pull off a great program will be much more excited and interested. The episode where the Nexus debuted is probably the biggest evidence of this that I can remember. With that show, it really did seem like they were going out of their way to put on the most mind-numbing 3-hour show ever. Then boom, the NXT rookies are tearing up the ring.

Last weeks episode was a huge improvement with people getting promo time and a decent booked show. By no means was it an amazing show, it was decent and they showed they were trying to improve which they do around this time until they threw it all away with the Authority showing up to close the show.
Last night was horrible top to bottom every match was paint by the numbers boring. The Authority is crippling any improvement in the writing and it's used as a shitty crutch to try and put faces over because God forbid they can't book faces and heels without a heel authority somehow being involved. They have been doing this awful angle since AUGUST 2013.... 2013 DAMMIT, IT'S JANUARY 6TH 2015.

Last night had to be the catalyst for Sting showing up on Raw.
Next week, I bet we see Ziggler, Ryback and Rowan all in the crowd with Sting masks on.
