Me and the lady friend were discussing actors who seem that no matter what they do, they'll always be known for one specific role.
I brought up Wayne Knight as Newman from Seinfeld. She pointed out that pretty much the entire cast of that show even a bulk of the side characters will always be known for being on that show. (Soup Nazi, Papi, etc)
So I thought of Curtis Armstrong. Even though he's had recent success with King Of The Nerds and Supernatural. He'll always been known as Booger.
And then you have Alfonso Ribeiro as Carlton, Dustin Diamond as Screech and Jaleel White as Urkel.
What are some other actors who will be forever remembered for one specific role?

- Despite a long and incredible career, Ian McKellen will probably always be Gandalf to most people. - Rupert Grint will always be Ron Weasley. - Peter Capaldi will always get the Malcolm Tucker references.

The majority of the casts of all the Star Trek shows. Even those who have had success in other things, like Shatner.

Philip Jeanmarie is forever TWO characters, Never Give Up Max from Power Rangers Wild Force, and Vincent Clarkson from Passions. Therefore he doesn't belong in this thread. And as sad as it is to say it, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Billy Dee Williams all belong in this thread, unlike Harrison Ford.

I know Tim Curry is pretty prolific, but for me and I'm guessing many others he's forever Dr. Frank N. Furtur.

I think a decade or so ago you could've made an argument for Mark, but not now. Hell, then again I know more younger people know him for the role I'm thinking of (The Joker) than even know who Luke Skywalker is (only, tragically, having had exposure to the prequels).

wayne knight was also dennis nedry from jurassic park I know that. But the point of the thread is if I put up a pic of Wayne Night you'd probably think of Newman first. Kinda like if I post this guy. You'll probably think of Winston from Ghosbusters first. Despite the fact that He's in the Crow and the Warden in OZ.

John Krasinski as Jim Halpert I see previews of Rainn Wilson's new show, and I keep thinking to myself "Man, Dwight's looking haggard. The beet farm must've fallen on some hard times."

Even though he's had many great roles, it seems that Michael Keaton is well on his way to being remembered first and foremost as the definitive Batman.
