well they did have the 2013 HOF ceremony at MSG, and they used the typical TV stage without any problems. But yea it is killer expensive, but Is till think they could do TV there if they really wanted to. Yeah, they can still do tv it's just really expensive... also they changed the layout of the seats so they can't use the tunnel entrance anymore... which sucks... I think, much like the Manhattan Center, MSG now makes you use in house crews and production or pay a huge penalty which WWE will not do for TV.

Its going to be in one of these places:
- Barclay's Center - MSG - Red Bull Arena (Outdoors) - Prudential Center
They're not going to move it from the same area and all 4 have open dates.
I think the less likely of the 4 are Red Bull Arena and Prudential Center. While I think both would be good venues (and both are easy to get to with public transportation), Red Bull is outdoors and Prudential Center may be considered too small. I think its going to be MSG or Barclay's.
As one who lives in the area and has been to all 4 of these places, I'm rooting for Prudential Center. a major PPV in that arena would be awesome. I don't particularly care for MSG despite its history, and Barclay's Centers sightlines can leave a little to be desired.

This is true, but they can also apply for a waiver of this. Since the original venue wont exist anymore, its possible it would go through, but not a guarantee.

I'm kind of sad to see the old Brendan Byrne Arena go. Grew up going there a lot, my Devils won two of their three Stanley Cups on its ice, and a lot of the whole Meadowlands complex used to be directly run by the state of New Jersey, which made it both profitable for the state when it was doing well and made it a source of pride, too. Sadly, its day has passed; it was built during an era where people were convinced sports/concert venues had to be outside of city centers since folks were leaving for the suburbs, but now in the 2000s the trend has reversed; driving to events at the Meadowlands sucks, and people would rather get to Prudential Center, Barclays, et. al. since you're actually in a city and have some things to do around the location. Football can still be out in the sticks or wherever since it's only once a week, but it's become death for arenas. Maybe it's because I've only ever really been to small arenas, but I've never really gotten why people get hung up on the quality of them. My chair not have anything in it? It have drinks? Can I see? Okay, I'm good. Couple reasons on why I feel that way... 1) It is a bitch to get to the IZOD or Prudential center. I'm not even coming from one of the burroughs either. I'm coming from Hoboken (which is in NJ) and it's still easier to get to MSG/Barclays. Red Bull Stadium is kind of a hassle but that would at least be so distinctive I would not mind. 2) The atmosphere at MSG is the best I've ever been apart of. Every time I go it magical. Survivor Series 2011 was so much better than Wrestlemania 29. I have never been to Barclays but I have only heard (and expect) great things. Dude, if you live in Hoboken all you have to do to get to the Rock is hop on the PATH and transfer at Journal Square for the Newark-bound train. How is that a bitch?

We haven't had a Summerslam at MSG in 17 years. I'd say we're due. Exactly. Though, I'll take any arena over the Staples Center. It just got so boring having it in the same place for so many years in a row.

Still pulling for Red Bull Arena. I thought it would be a cool atmosphere back when they announced the show would be in that area.

Does it matter? The set will probably just be the Raw stage anyways. If it's outside, it might be a nice way to switch it up, though.

Kind of sad to see the old Meadowlands close down. As a kid, that place looked enormous and pretty cool. On the other hand, the Meadowlands is home to one of my worst sports memories ever with the 2007 NCAA East Regional Final. Maybe SummerSlam can be moved to Barclays now.

Walk to the PATH and switch at Journal Square to a Newark train, BOOM you're at The Rock. There's no reason to think about driving there. Newark Penn is a few blocks from the arena. I agree that IZOD sucked having to get to and worse leaving simply because of Rt 3 traffic, but you smokin something if you think the Prudential Center is hard to get to. Its easy. And if it was at Red Bull Arena you'd just get off the same Newark train at Harrison, Red Bull Arena is right outside the platform.

Yeah, there is about 0 chance they go to MSG. They hate the changes made there and the costs involved, you would think after years of not running TV there, people would have realized this. Prudential and Red Bull make the most sense with Barclays having an outside shot. I know they revamped MSG not too long ago but what is it exactly about the new changes that WWE doesn't like?

Cost is ridiculously high for an arena that had everything of note removed, they require companies to use in house production equipment and crews or pay a heavy penalty (though you can apply for a waiver), while MSG has history it is outdated despite the renovations while Barclays is newer and modern and if I remember right it is not easy to get their TV stuff to the buildings.

I've just had bad expierences going to concerts and have spent way too many nights just waiting for a train at Journal Square. Maybe it's me (and it most certainly is) but I've just had bad expierences. Red Bull Arena would be my choice - even over MSG. I've been to that stadium only once and a wrestling show there could be rocking.

Whatever the new arena is still has to be close to NYC, because otherwise this "NY/NJ" shit they tried to pull on us becomes even more pointless and teasing to those who live in New York

Yeah, traffic surrounding MSG, especially for large trucks, is horrendous. Also, even with the upgrades made to MSG, Barclays is considered much nicer.

Didn't they also changed the layout of MSG? They got rid of the old entrance. It was the right amount of a old school wrestling venue.

I go to tons of shows in the city and I have Devils season tickets (not the greatest of investments past two seasons but I love em so w/e lol) so I make this journey a couple of nights a week in both directions. If you're there at 1-2-3am the wait is going to be longer, but for most events at Prudential (or Red Bull if it was there), the wait is never more than 15 minutes for me and this is 11p-12am. Once it hits midnight or so, the schedule becomes more sporadic. And I would still suggest to you to take the PATH from Hoboken to Harrison if its at Red Bull Arena. The train is right outside it. Driving to Newark/Harrison is far more frustrating IMO simply because of parking costs and traffic. The reason the Rock was built and put where it is is because of the ease in getting there/leaving via public transportation.
