Over the Edge '99 is obviously mostly remembered for the Owen Hart tragedy, but before that happened, the opening match of X-Pac and Kane vs. D'Lo and Mark Henry is one of the absolute best matches of all four men's careers. With a super hot crowd that was as excited as any Attitude Era crowd ever got, it's an absolute blast of a match that's unfortunately, but understandably, overshadowed by what happened very shortly after.

I loved that match. It really was the perfect opener. It was fast-paced and didn't overstay it's welcome.

Rockers vs Twin Towers, Wrestlemania V I was going to mention this one and Hogan & Boss Man's steel cage match.

Edge and Christian vs. The Hardys in a Steel Cage Match at Unforgiven 2000. I don't think its mentioned often due to it being overshadowed by the TLCs but I like it.

John Cena vs Umaga in a Last Man Standing Match for the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble 2007
John Cena vs The Great Khali in a Falls Count Anywhere Match for the WWE Championship at One Night Stand 2007
Cena's matches were consistently and strongly entertaining in 2007, never get much love.

Overall, No Mercy 2001 and 2002 are very fine shows. Specifically, from 01, Rock vs jericho and Edge vs Christian are great. Austin vs RVD vs Angle is fun,
From 02, angle and benoit vs edge and Mysterio is a lost classic.

Raven vs Chris Jericho - Halloween Havoc 98
Great match. Both men were heels but had the crowd eating out of their hands by the end of the match. Rarely gets talked about but I consider it a lesson on how to use ring psychology during a match.

Eddie Guerrero vs Batista, No Mercy 2005. WHC Match.
It's overshadowed entirely and quite rightly by the fact a mere while later Eddie would no longer be with us, but man, the work he did here just had me blown away. He has this knack for exaggerated reactions with this constant undercurrent of subtlety. The story is Eddie is reforming after his "I'm your Papi" phase and Batista is somewhat cynical, yet willing to go along with it for poops and giggles. Eddie actively wrestles with his conscience, teasing reverting to his nastier habits, but there's layers there, whether he's goofing with the audience, legit or, indeed, it's all part of a meta-goof.

John Cena vs Umaga in a Last Man Standing Match for the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble 2007 Definitely have to second that one. Really solid match and one of the better performances Cena has ever put on.

Really solid match and one of the better performances Cena has ever put on. However barbaric it may be considered of a viewer, I did like how semi-invincible it made Umaga looked. That's even with the loss. There was a time the only way to beat him was to either, literally, damn-near kill him, or for one to launch oneself from stupid-heights to put him on the back-burner.

Exactly why it is such a great match. Very rare to see a match where both men leave looking better than before.

If anything I strongly recommend the In Your House bluray the WWE put out last year. The host of the video Todd Pentingill put it best that those shows (In Your House) had some great matches that weren't on the grandest of stages and have been forgotten. There are a lot of really good matches on that set and Todd is really good as a host. Do they have the Bret/Bulldog match for the World Title there? That match was insane for 1995 WWF.

A lot of these matches I've not seen at all or in a really long time, definitely be checking these out with the Network now

There was one Rockers/Brainbusters match from SNME that was pure awesomeness. It had a DQ finish but put a clean finish on it and it would have been a 5 star affair. I have a standby match for this sort of thread: Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn from ECW on TNN, circa Sept. 1999. ECW Arena. I haven't seen it in years but I thought it was a breathtaking instant classic with crowd heat the likes of which you've never seen. This would be the match where Lynn had taped ribs from an Impact Players attack. Not as well known as some of their other matches on PPV, but this one is a classic and possibly RVD's best singles match. Brainbusters and Rockers or Brainbusters vs Hart Foundation was always guaranteed awesomeness. I could just do an Arn and Tully binge featuring all their late 80s stuff I could find on the Network with the Rock N' Roll Express, and Midnight Express, the Road Warriors, plus as much 89 WWF stuff I could find as well. RVD/Lynn was also great, I also recommend any Jerry Lynn vs Lance Storm match from 1999, especially their Anarchy Rulz 99 match. (It's the opener of perhaps ECW's best PPV match wise...)

There are a lot of really good matches on that set and Todd is really good as a host. Do they have the Bret/Bulldog match for the World Title there? That match was insane for 1995 WWF. It does have Bret Hart verses the Bulldog for the title from December 1995, is that the one? It also had Bret verses Hakushi, which was a match I always liked, and that Undertaker verses Shawn Micheals match from Ground Zero that other guy was talking about which was really good and different for the Undertaker. He was very angry in that match, just attacking everyone (I think they went through three referees) and brutalizing HBK. A very different Undertaker, I'd like to have known more of the backstory of the match. And if you buy the bluray there's a Brian Christopher match that had Jerry Lawler doing some great "huh, he's not my son, what are you talking about, oh he's hurt, I-I-I better check on him" commentary. And at the beginning of Jeff Jarrett verses HBK there is one of my favorite Jerry Lawler lines ever. They show a typical 1990's wrestling lady fan and he yells out "what's her hobby, stepping on rakes?" Awesome. And it has Triple H verses the Godwin in the pig-pen match...aside from that the whole set is awesome. Buy the bluray though because the bonus matches are great too.

The Shield v the Wyatt Family from Raw in Chicago last year - even better than the pay per view match they had.
John Cena v CM Punk for the WrestleMania 29 title shot on Raw - its in the Video Vault section. Incredible match.
War Games from WrestleWar 92 - hardcore before it was cool.
The Rockers v Orient Express at Royal Rumble 1991 - best tag match ever.

The Rockers vs The Orient Express at the 91 Rumble is a great match but it's discussed quite often around here.

Cena vs Undertaker from Smackdown 2004.
That match convinced me that Cena was ready for the main event.
Tajiri vs Rey Mysterio from Smackdown 2003.
Just a badass match. Tajiri looked like a straight killer.
Someone mentioned Bret/Savage from SNME 1987.
Daniel Bryan vs Miz from RAW 2011.
These two had great chemistry. Miz was no slouch whenever he faced Bryan.
