I would be concerned about things happening in that darkened crowd. If, say, an assault, or heaven forbid, a rape, happened in their intentionally-darkened crowd, it'd be a nightmare. A bit over the top there Rave. I don't believe it's really much worse than most concerts, clubs, haunted houses or movie theaters are at times. ...or WWE House Shows.

Big John is a huge fan of the original Silent Hill and wanted to recreate that atmosphere in a pro wrestling setting.

You rock for referencing GWAR, but you suck for making me miss Oderus again. At least Vulvatron seems a worthy successor. A hell of a lot better than Blothar.

Sure, it's over the top and there really isn't much of a chance of those things actually happening, but I'm thinking in worst case scenarios here. More than likely it'd be just fights in the crowd, fans getting grabby, and stuff being thrown. It must be an absolute bitch for whatever security they've got working the shows, since it's pretty much pitch black out there.

Even with that, though, it's less of a bitch to security than it looks like just due to camera work- it looks dark when you're filming outwards, but when you're actually in the building it's not particularly dark when you see it (you're looking towards the light so there's a light source to you- just not one in the back rowa.)

I like it. It's not perfect, but it is a step in the right direction towards a more neutral classic look to affairs.

That's the way they want wrestling, none more black.

I thought people were joking about how dark it is, but holy shit, having put myself through an episode of Impact last night, that is f***ing ridiculous. I was less drawn to the ring, more wondering why the hell it was pitch black outside the ring. It's a tad distracting.

Does anybody remember that WCW/nWo for Playstation where you could wrestle in a ring in outer space among other places (a disco and other weird scenarios were available)? That's exactly how TNA looks like now: WCW in outer space.

Security has Sam Fisher goggles, I wouldn't worry about them too much

That's exactly how TNA looks like now: WCW in outer space. Put Impact in a dance hall have the wrestlers dance to "Cool Cat Baby"

I saw about half an hour of Impact and had no idea what was going on. They went from what looked like a pub to Hammerstein and the commentators were hiding in a portaloo.
The company is embarrassing. I had no idea what I was watching.

If, say, an assault, or heaven forbid, a rape, happened in their intentionally-darkened crowd, it'd be a nightmare. it's probably not that dark. TV needs lots of light to look natural. If you've ever seen Bray Wayat's entrance in person you would notice that wwe at it's darkest moment is brighter than most lighting in stores. So I'd Imagine that TNA'S show it is probably is the same thing
