The X-Men will be fine. Marvel may do less mainstream promotion with them but they aren't getting ditched If Marvel really was as petty as some think, they would've killed off every single X-Men character and cancelled all related titles a long time ago.

Why kill them off when you can do the really petty thing of completely tearing apart there universe by bastardizing most of the characters. Its like chaining a person up in the basement. You can still have fun with it.

X-men really should be their own brand for Marvel if the central theme is to work at all. As cool as it is seeing all the characters interact, the whole 'we hate people born with powers but are super ok with ones who got em as an accident' has never really worked. People keep saying that but wasn't the whole point of Civil War also just about any Hulk, Spidey or Ghost Rider story that they aren't?

See, Civil War isn't the first time they've attempted that story though. They'd done Superhero Registration stuff in the late 80's. It doesn't work, and Civil War didn't work if you're gonna reverse course; and you HAVE to reverse it or the Marvel Universe becomes a dreary unfun place to read about pretty quickl

Basically, Secret Wars is House of M, only this time when it's over a handful of stuff from the villain's fantasy world will survive and stick around.

Anybody use comiXology? Is it worth it?
I'm a "hold the book" type of guy. I love to read with a book in my hands - comics, novels, even newspapers. However, my comics are taking up a TON of room and I think it might be time to start an alternative option.
This will be tough to do, but I think it might work for the best. I'll have to look into it more to see exactly how it works, but man...the amount of room I'll save would be awesome.
And maybe it'll finally convince me to sell all my old stuff.

I use it... if your problem is space then yes it's totally worth it.
You buy the book from their website and it gets attached to your account, you can setup subscriptions and pre-orders as well.
When it's on your account you can read it on one of their apps, or off the website proper.
You can view it as a page or zoom on specific panels as well.
Marvel allows you to sync your comixology account with their in house one as well so any Marvel comics you buy are synced at both places.

So anything I buy will show up on both the websites and if I download the app on my devices? Does it work the other way? Can I buy stuff from the apps and have it show up in the other places? Once you buy, does the comic stay in your account forever?

You used to be able to buy off the iPad app but they took that functionality out at one point. I think they were sick of paying the Apple fees... not sure about the Android apps.
You have to tell it to download it on the app but it will be on the list of owned comics.
as for buying it is tied to your account permanently... I think you may be able to download it to your computer but I'm not sure... I usually only read off the app.
edit: It looks like the only ones I can download as a back up are third party comics Dynamite/IDW/etc. not Marvel or DC.

I've been using comixology for a couple of years now. Its saved me SO much space and time (traveling to and fro the comic shop). Plus I can get up on Wednesday morning, download the comics I want and take them with me to work. I generally just read in landscape view on my tablet and then rotate if I want to see the whole page. Its a little cumbersome at first, but you get used to it. Plus you can delete and then re-download the comics to your device if you want to save room.

And once you buy a comic, it's yours forever? Do they have all the titles released or do they pick and choose? I looked quickly and it looked like they had everything. Even trades and stuff.
