and I never thought I'd say it, but Archie Comics are fantastic right now, between Afterlife, Archie vs Predator, and the reboot, there's been a lot of good stuff. And their Mega Man title is very good, IMO.

Current DC? They ran me off a few years back. For 25 years, I was a DC fanboy. In the 90s I was the nerdy kid on the street that liked DC while all my friends liked Marvel and I defended them relentlessly. Now, I'm down to Harley Quinn and Starfire. I also read He-Man, but I would read that regardless of whether DC had the current rights or not. I am thinking about checking out the Dan Jurgens Superman book though. I heard it was the post Crisis Superman I grew up with, but teleported into the New 52 universe or something. Dan Jurgens is THE Superman writer/artist to me, but I haven't heard much about if the book is actually good or not. That may have to do with the fact it's..well, not even out yet. It launches in October.

...this is why people mock epic sweeping character changes. I know they said they can keep the identity thing... but that kinda makes things pretty tough to write stories for and not have that be at least brought up... unless they make a story of the toll of Superman needing to be in Superman mode 24/7 now. otherwise... is Myxlplyx just going to have everyone forget Superman is Clark? will they just begin humoring him? Or will Superman just go around kissing everyone? A Superman baloon like the ... Silver(?) Age! Seriously, I suppose an obvious would be for a shapechanger showing up as Clark publicly with Superman or something... I haven't been reading hte books like I said I have a massive backlog.

I think Convergence had a separate zone for 90s-era versions of the characters (like Steel and Connor), but DC have said this was supposed to be pre-flashpoint Clark (so maybe the 2000s era Supes, possibly post-Infinite Crisis) This stuff confuses me a lot.

Lol, me too, that's a big part of how they drove me away. Books being about the universe and continuity more than just sticking with a continuity and telling good stories of each character. I think you convinced me to check out that Convergence mini though. I'm very hesitant to give DC or Marvel my money these days, but it seems at least worth a shot. Thanks.

So, Batman by JRjr?
Because really he's the only character at DC that trumps Superman

I thought it would be terrible, and that it was a mistake to turn Dick into a spy, but it's been awesome.

So, Batman by JRjr? Because really he's the only character at DC that trumps Superman They pulled him off SUPERMAN 6 months before Snyder & Capullo's apparent final issue (#50 - that's when their contracted run ends, but it's still unknown if they'll actually be leaving - both have said they'd gladly stay on)........that's not unbelievable. Meanwhile, Howard Porter (Morrison's JLA artist, and a longtime DCU stalwart artist currently wrapping up his run on JL3001 I guess) takes over for JRJr on SUPES.

From reading some of the above posts and various online articles, how long until the next DC reboot?

I hope that this change of direction doesn't affect Prez. It's probably my favourite DC comic right now, gloriously surreal, and it already had one aborted run back in the 70s, I'd like this one to at least complete a story arc.
