I guess it depends on what it is they like... and what exactly DC ends up dropping. But it is a tough spot to be in... since even if they are popular they still lost 2 million dollars. Reading over the sales report for July yesterday, DC took A LOT of hits across the board. The newer titles very much lost a lot, so if anything'll go it's a lot of that stuff. Which is unfortunate because I find more interesting in the pages of PREZ and STARFIRE than anything in a Superman or even Bat title. If LOBO survives, though, then there's just no explanation, as it's currently the lowest selling ongoing (under 20k). I'm just hoping Cyborg doesn't get canned. It's taken the guy 35 years to get his own ongoing title, so I'd hate to see it cut short.

It only makes sense if it's someone the company likes behind it, like the Movement. Which never really did much of anything but was given it's total 12 issue run... even if it probably shouldn't have from a sales stand point. (and personally I found the book pretty flat overall.)

I think they pull Ivan Reis from art before they cancel it, and even then I think Reis has wanted this job for a long time....so it may be safe, or tying into other JL events pretty quick.

So.... this is just me going back and re-reading this run of Batgirl but thinking on it...
Am I the only one that thinks this was originally supposed to be a Stephanie Brown comic?
My only real reasoning for this is that Barbara seems a lot younger in this then she did and B. they keep referring to her as the Batgirl of Burnside instead of just Batgirl as if there was more than one.

Honestly that's why I don't like this run on Batgirl that much. It felt really cheap to take away all the growth Barbara had over the years just to turn her into partying college girl. Especially when that role really would have fit Stephanie. But some one at DC has that hate boner on her and well the rest is history.

Yeah, I've said a few times it really feels like a different character and not a continuation than the one in the Gail Simone run... which is what I meant with the acting a lot younger bit...

I think Gail should have used Stephanie instead aswell. But alas I'm not stupid enough to get rid of the most beloved handicapped person in comics.

Well that wasn't Gail's decision...
I was also fine with the decision to un-paralyze her since Barbara is one of my favorite DC girls... and the Killing Joke and the treatment of her ALWAYS stuck in my craw... even with Oracle helping alleviate that somewhat
Also... with all the coming back to life and superscience and magic in the DC Universe NOTHING could fix her legs...

Eh, I'm fine with it because they eventually revealed she wasn't the same Babs as before anyway, and Gail got to give Oracle and Dick a happy ending in Convergence.

While her treatment in Killing Joke was horrible I still stand that has Oracle Barbara was a better character. Yes she was a victim to violence and paralyzed. But because of good writing she was made out to be one of, it not the, most powerful person on Earth. She could do more in a day than Batgirl could do in a year. She was an inspiration to victims of violence every where, showing them that you didn't have to give up and lose hope but instead to fight and be stronger for it. Hell in her wheel chair she was able to take on members of the League of Assassins by herself. We are talking about a women who was able to take the entire population of Earth, 6 billion people, and coordinated them to fight a weapon of mass destruction built by the gods. All from a room using some monitors and a mother box. Now she just party's and is a normal girl. How the hell is that a fair trade off.

No way there is a happy ending Yeah, a combination of Slott writing + Quesada variant usually spells out "Uh Oh" RYV will be among the worlds unlocked in the next event for Spider-Man Unlimited following Spider-Island (Secret Wars), so I assume that means Annie will be playable in the game soon
