Did anyone enjoy 'Rocky Balboa' (2006) ? Loved it. Great storytelling. QFT. I thought that would be the end of the Rocky franchise. If so, it was a good ending. I'm still intrigued by this, so I will probably see this in theatres.

This idea is still kinda odd to me because from what little I've heard of this story it sounds like it's basically completely the reverse Rocky's "underdog's shot at glory" thing... With the privileged chiseled kid with a showbiz name getting into boxing... instead of the average schlub dockworker getting a chance against a champion that is in better shape and pretty much overtly stated is better than Rocky in every way. I'll still probably end up seeing it at one point though. Clever use of Watermark.

I'd end the movie with Adonis Creed beating Money Mayweather.

As long as Rocky is still alive and well at the end of the movie, I'm extremely interested in seeing this. I'd love to see Apollo Creed's legacy go on after the Rocky franchise has ended. Cool idea, IMO.

The movie should begin with Apollo's son being the Chris Brown of boxing.
He'll be on TMZ with a headline saying "DISGRACE TO HIS FATHER, ADONIS CREED PUNCHES IGGY AZALEA!!!!!"

What I'd like to see is the guy start boxing, but then decide he'd rather do MMA or something, and Stallone has to struggle with the changing tastes in combat sports and how his profession seems antiquated now That was a minor subplot in the underrated Stallone comedy Grudge Match, so I don't see it resurfacing in another Stallone film. I recommend Grudge Match if you haven't seen it, it's better than it has any right to be.

Oh boy, I'm gonna lose it during this movie.
Big Hero 6 choked me up, but Rocky Balboa is my dude, this might actually get me to sob.

Balboa was really good, if often very depressing. Good bookend to the first though. Honestly, I think that V was more depressing because he didn't really accomplish anything. He just kept losing things in life over and over then he punched some dude. Hooray? He still didn't get back to a good place. He literally just punched some dude in a street fight. Balboa was depressing too, but it also felt like a story of redemption where he fought for what really mattered to him and got there in the end. That was the best for me.

I can't even begin to explain how excited I was when "Rocky Balboa" was released in 2006. I remember the trailer leaking online and watching it so many times that I had the thing damn near memorized line-for-line, image-for-image. As the weeks and days drew near to its theatrical release, I actively went out of my way to avoid any discussions about it, because I didn't want a single second of it spoiled. The day it was released, I was right there in the theater at the first showing I was able to attend.
And here we are, some nine years later, and there's another addition to the "Rocky" franchise coming, and I have ZERO excitement for it. It's hard to explain, I guess I thought "Rocky Balboa" was the perfect bow to put on the end of the franchise, the ultimate mea culpa for "Rocky V", a two-hour apology from Sylvester Stallone that had been 16 years in the making. And after that perfect conclusion, this just comes off as a total cash-grab, a way to slap the Balboa name on another boxing movie for nothing more than money.
To me, "Creed" is no different than taking that god-awful "Grudge Match" movie starring Stallone and Robert DeNiro that was released a few years ago, and calling it "Rocky VII".

There were scenes in the trailer that pointed that it was at least partially comedic. They parodied the meat locker scene from Rocky in one of them.

I thought Rocky died at the end of Rocky VI
He faded away after visiting Adrian's grave
