Yo, its me, Rocky Balboa, the Italian Stallion Stallone will play a supporting role in 'Creed', returning as Rocky Balboa. This is him on the set of the movie which is filming now. The film is written and directed by Ryan Coogler (right) who directed the brilliant "Fruitvale Station" and starring the star of that film, Michael B Jordan (left) as Adonis Creed (The grandson, or son, I am not sure, of Apollo Creed). "A story that finds Rocky Balboa acting as a trainer and mentor to the grandson of his fellow boxing alumni, Apollo Creed." I love the Rocky movies so I am interested in this. It could even turn into a new franchise for Coogler and Jordan. Interstingly Stallone is now the same age as Mickey was in the first Rocky movie. Thoughts? Terrible idea?

Man Jordan's career choices are really weird lately after his career started off so well. I guess I can give it a chance because of him, but bleh.

Remember that one AVGN episode where he played a Rocky game and the characters all came out with their faces missing?
Yeah, that's what i'm thinking this movie is going to be like.

I'm intrigued, but if there's not a scene where Rocky's first piece of advice is "Don't fight a Russian.", huge missed opportunity.

I'm in.
As a native Philadelphian, I'm required to love Rocky.
And, apparently, Coogler wrote this movie on his own, but said he wouldn't even attempt to make it unless he got Stallone's full endorsement of the script. So I'm not too worried about this just being a cash grab.

outside of Rocky V the Rocky movies have ranged from amazing to solid so this will probably be good. I'm glad that they're going with Apollo's grandson instead of Rocky's son or grandson, I think that there is more mileage and ways to go with Adonis Creed.

I'm extremely interested. I actually always wanted to see a movie like this, and I'm happy to just see Rocky progressing and taking up the mentor role full time without boxing himself (at least I hope he doesn't box, nor Adonis Creed pull a "Tommy Gunn" and become his enemy or something dumb like that. I want the characters to develop a good, relationship.)

What I'd like to see is the guy start boxing, but then decide he'd rather do MMA or something, and Stallone has to struggle with the changing tastes in combat sports and how his profession seems antiquated now

Did anyone enjoy 'Rocky Balboa' (2006) ? All feuds in any combat sport ever should be built up via video games. That's the lesson I learned from that.

Did anyone enjoy 'Rocky Balboa' (2006) ? Probably the second best Rocky movie even though Rocky IV is my personal second favorite due to campy reasons. Anyways glad they have changed it to grandson and only Rocky V was the only bad Rocky film. Plus Stallone seems to endorse the film and will be a supporting actor and seems to be giving his blessing to Ryan Cooper and Jordan to continue the franchise. And keep in mind, Stallone hated Rocky V more then anyone else so I'm sure it's in good hands since Stallone probably loves the Rocky franchise more then anyone else.

I wonder if Creed will be a new franchise.
It would be weird if Rocky died in the third installment like Mickey before him

Looking forward to this one. I've been a Rocky fan since I was a kid (V was pretty weak though), and MBJ's hype is for good reason.

it would make more sense for rocky to mentor Steps?
Anyway maybe Rocky will mentor all of his other opponents relatives in a trend. Clubber Lang's son, Drago's nephew, Spider Rico's great grandson, Union Cane's illegitimate daughter
