I really dug Tales from the Borderlands, but that's the only Borderlands game I've ever played.
Will I enjoy this collection?

I wasted money on both assasins creed origins and odyssey, I don’t know why I hated them so much.

Will I enjoy this collection? tough to say because Tales is more like a visual novel with some interactive choices, whereas the actual Borderlands games are loot shooters. What was it about Tales From The Borderlands appealed to you... the gameplay, the humor? While Borderlands can be played entirely single-player, playing it in a group with 3 other friends is also an amazing experience.

Well, the "I absolutely love this game" streak is over for me. Since realizing I like non-sports games, I've been enjoying catching up on games since December. Today, I started Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and I'm not in love. It's a fine game for what it is. However, after playing so many games driven by the story and leading me from chapter to chapter, I am missing that clear structure feeling. It's also quite simple and quick. I'm almost halfway through the main story and I didn't play for super long. I don't really mind a quicker game since I probably need that after a few longer games. However, the quickness of each mission is not allowing me to get invested. I'm still going to finish it, though. I happen to have the sequel (got both games as a gift) - is it better than the first? I will say this, if the game's not hitting you just right, don't feel obligated to finish it right now. Some you gotta be in a certain mood for, or certain season for. WhileI love finishing games too, forcing yourself to slog through something is a quick way to escalate burnout. You're supposed to first and foremost be getting enjoyment from these games. I completed a few more missions and then just started to get very frustrated trying to open up more main missions. It’s not a hard game by any means, but I just am not enjoying it. So...I’m just going to take your advice and move on. I’m disappointed because I enjoy the fighting system and the world is pretty cool. But it’s just too open for my liking. I prefer to stick to the story and do the side stuff for fun. Having to do side stuff in order to further the story is not for me. With that being said, there are some open world games I’m interested in that I’m now worried about. Can you just go from mission to mission with games like Red Dead, Far Cry, and Days Gone? Or do you HAVE to do some side stuff to get to missions? I know doing some side stuff helps to advance your stats and stuff. I don’t mind that. But I don’t want to HAVE to do them unless I want to, you know? From what I’ve seen on walkthroughs, I think I’d be fine. But I also thought that with Middle-earth and was wrong.

^^^. You can mainline the main story and completely ignore everything else in Days Gone. You get a bunch of requests to do side-missions, but they don’t have a bearing on advancing the actual story.
If you haven’t seen my last bunch of posts, great game. I’m probably one last 30 minute session away from getting the Platinum Trophy.

I think it’s less that it’s comparable as much as they were the first of its kind compared to the others. But in terms of comparisons, Destiny is the obvious one.

That's all I want...and it's what I did with stuff like Spider-man and God of War. I mostly stuck to the main story and then did a ton of side stuff after beating it and had a great time doing so.

What types of loot shooters would you say they're comparable to? the humor in Tales is definitely 100% there, one of the best things about Borderlands is the humor and the art style for sure.... but yeah the actual games have none of the choice making really (except very rare ones, like "Do you want a shotgun or a machine gun as your reward?") or relationship building. That's more of an actual Telltale games mechanic. I dunno if you're a Guardians Of The Galaxy fan, but I highly recommend the Telltale Guardians game if you want another really good one with that style of gameplay Borderlands is more just a shooter, killing waves of enemies and hoping bosses will drop rare loot... ala Destiny like someone said, but less serious. Fetch quests and driving around and killing things hoping for more loot, encountering quirky weirdos that make ya laugh. I highly recommend the game, but just know what you're getting into

Borderlands gameplay is best described as Diablo but as a funny FPS.

Resident Evil 7 is great, but, I feel like I'm near the endgame and it's been kinda short. I'm glad I waited until it was cheaper. Great game, but given it's short length, I'd have been pissed off if I'd spent full price on it. there's even a trophy for beating the game in under 4 hours, which shows they knew how short it was. My first runthrough of it though took me about 15 hours, though I do tend to take my time with and not rush through. Once you beat the game, I highly suggest the completely free DLC "Not A Hero". It actually wraps up a part of the story that seemed like a big loose-end, and it won't cost you anything

Finished off the Plat for Days Gone tonight, and I’m pretty sad about it. Still some hordes to kill and collectibles to gather, but I’m about at the end of the road with that one.
Back to grinding the stupid Frifle Challenge trophy to complete my Enter the Gungeon Plat.

I also saw theres two more extra contents to play in my folder. Assuming they're all around 2 hours, the 3,extras will bump it up to an acceptable length. Great game. I had a blast playing it. I just wanted more. I felt the mines could have been longer. They were creepy but over too quick.

After the Mordor debacle, I started playing Call of Duty: World War II yesterday. While not on the same level as the other games I loved, I'm just happy to be enjoying a game again. Only somewhat frustrating part is getting used to first person again, but if that's the only thing...then I'm OK with it.

Someone convince me not to buy a FOURTH version of Trails of Cold Steel 1 and 2 all over again...
But ugh, PS4's probably gonna be the only place to get the entire Tetralogy all in one place...

So with no games I’m really interested coming out in the near future, my plan is THE SUMMER OF ACTUALLY FINISHING GAMES!
I have a bad habit of (unless I fall in love with it, sup Days Gone) getting a large portion of the way through a game before stopping and moving on... off the top of my head
First, which I started last night; Spider-Man, which I’m at 80% according to the menu screen.
FFXV I have the final boss.
Far Cry New Dawn
Assassins Creed England and Greece I never finished.
Secret of Mana PS4 remake
Arkham City remaster
Uncharted 3 remaster
I also have the final boss of Sekiro, but that’s less me moving on than I just can’t beat it. Fxxx the Sword Saint.
