If Bobby didn't leave WWE after the match with Cena (f***ing great match btw), what were the plans for Lashley going forward? Part 2 of the WinsLol trilogy?

He'd probably be a multiple time WWE Champion.

He would almost certainly have been the first black WWE champion.
Didn't Vince love the guy?

Probably a brief run as WWE Champion, then over to SmackDown again and been part of the World Heavyweight title rotation with Undertaker, Batista and Edge. Would have likely been the first man to hold the three WWE branded World titles.

To answer OP, most certainly would have stayed upper-mid card champ. A run as WHC and thats about it.

Would have likely been the first man to hold the three WWE branded World titles. I knew it was coming haha. The World Heavyweight title and WCW title are only considered the same when it suits WWE, i.e. a DVD release (it would have been a short history DVD if they didn't include it) or to beef up its history before they unified the WWE and World titles at TLC. They aren't directly linked, such as in title histories etc. If Russo and Arquette weren't WCW Champions, I do think it would have been a direct continuation, like the Cruiserweight and United States titles.

I always thought Lashley was underrated, and his TNA is proving that.
He can't talk for shit, but give him a mouth piece and push him like Lesnar (as a heel), and he would have been money. He's big, looks like a bad ass, and has a legit athletic background. He is an ideal fit for Vince.

Show has 2 WWE-branded "WHC" runs, even if you're not counting the "WCW" title.

Jesus...how bad was Rocks hairline??? I cant believe wanted that haircut as a kid. Didnt even know about balding... I never even noticed it on wrestlers (or men in general) until I was like 16-17 and saw people on forums making fun of Matt Hardy, Undertaker, and Shawn Michaels. Now "Don't Call Me Rick" Viktor is my balding idol. When my hair starts going (only 23 and still thick AF up there right now, thank God since I know some kids younger than me who are in full Cesaro mode), I'm just going to paint bright red on my head to fill in some space.

He worked out great for TNA during his second run but TNA decided to split him from MVP and let him talk for himself once more. Bad idea. He makes Roman seems like Nick Bockwinkel in comparison.

I was puzzled by his departure.
He was well pushed, then had surgery after that Cena match, was out 6 months and then........was released.
I'd always heard them letting Kristal go during his time off was a big part of him wanting out, but.....was that it?
I guess it's straightforward.....or not? So weird that he got such a push in the WWE yet it basically fizzled all due to that. Is there another piece to my puzzlement that I'm not seeing?

Supposedly it was a mix of the situation with her and him feeling stiffed on his Mania 23 pay. Anyway, the Lashley thing... I dunno, it just was not working, but I think that's because they gave him too much, too soon. When he was slowly rising through the midcard on SmackDown people were digging him, but then with the move to ECW they just began pushing the guy like absolute mad and for the most part he wasn't getting any reactions, not really even negative ones. Watch that match with Cena, good match but the whole thing's the crowd cheering when Cena does something and being dead silent when Lashley does anything.

If Lashley's WM 23 paycheck wasn't up there with the main eventers, he was stiffed imo. That "Battle of the Billionaires" match was built just about as heavily as the actual main events were. As for Lashley himself, I liked him. He had a good look (aside from the "baby face" jokes that sometimes went around), had a good moveset that emphasized his size, and had a pretty catchy theme song. I have no doubts the guy would've been the first black WWE Champion if he had stayed.

Lashley was another victim of the too much, too soon booking and being a square peg forced into a round hole. Get him a hype man and have him go out and smash people and he's a great talent, try and make him cut jokey promos and it falls apart as he lacks the voice and mic skills for it.
