I like the work he's done with Love Story though, Whiskey in a Bottle especially. But I just feel like if want to listen to southern rap, I got Big KRIT for that these days. Does this mean you didn't f*** with Ludas new album Well, he is the greatest rapper of 2001.

Speaking of hip hop, does anyone here f*** with Yelawolf He's alright. Like Kid Rock but he can actually rap and isn't nearly as much as a tool. Ludaversal is eh, the best songs are all incredible but it suffers from too much filler.

Damn, bruhs, 2 weeks? SSMH
Anyway, I'm late to the party but Snoop - Bush is a damn fine album. The vibe is absolutely perfect for spring/summer. California Roll and Awake are two of my favorites but really I rock front to back.
Also Curren$y is that dude. Just throwing that out there.

Haven't checked out Love Story yet, but I loved he has a few good mixtapes and his first album had some great songs on it amongst the crap. I'm definitely rooting for him, those classic rock freestyles he released before this latest album were so dope. Here's one of them: Language warning

If you guys haven't heard of Skyblew... you need to Recently got to chatting with him when he asked for a shoutout to his album on a Facebook page I run. Dude is on point, clean rapper, really good stuff, really humble and nice guy. If you have a minute, check out his newest stuff, just dropped the other day And his newest Album "Skyblew's Unmodern Life" where he took his childhood inspiration of Cartoons, Video Games, and more, and turned it into some really amazing tracks, is here for free to listen to or purchase entirely megaranmusic.com/album/skyblews-unmodern-life Really good shit, at least I think so, hope you guys like it too

Not really a thing, but still kinda important: Kanye announced via his Twitter that his album's name has changed from So Help Me God to SWISH. I think it's a step backward title-wise, to be honest.

What if this is step one of Kanye's plan to play center for his hometown Chicago Bulls?

What if this is step one of Kanye's plan to play center for his hometown Chicago Bulls? Clearly he hasn't sniffed enough glue

What if this is step one of Kanye's plan to play center for his hometown Chicago Bulls? Step one was his Rose shoutout on Don't Like. Now begins the second phase.

Question
Not naming what track it is...I'm writing a review of To Pimp a Butterfly and I don't know what to do when a track has perfect elements (perfect beat, perfect lyrics and perfect presence), but to me doesn't feel like they mesh up well. Would you guys still give the song a top rating for filling all areas, or knock down a point or two for not forming a cohesive song

If you really feel that way, knock off a point or two. If it doesn't come together, that takes it down a notch imo.

What are your guys' thoughts on Forest Hills Drive? I hadn't listed to it in a while, but I had No Role Models on last night, I forgot how great that song was until now

I hadn't listed to it in a while, but I had No Role Models on last night, I forgot how great that song was until now FHD is such a good album, I've been following Cole since The Come Up and this was the album I knew he was capable of from an artistic standpoint, but wasn't sure he would be able to release on Roc Nation. Its really good to see that Hov had the faith in him to let him not only put out an album that isn't looking for radio play but actively tried to avoid it. Gives me hope Elechannakah is coming soon. And cageking666, I'd knock a point off for lack of cohesiveness unless there's a reason for the disconnect. Post the review and tag me in the post if you can, I'd really like to read it.

That's all I got to say. My love for him cooled down after Sideline Story and Born Sinner because I wasn't a fan of how hard he was trying to be a jack of all trades, but then I went to a show up here he was putting on. He brought his entire stage set-up and band for a little college show and absolutely killed it. The Truly Yours tapes were also great, and FHD just made me appreciate how good this dude really is. He finally realized he isn't a Kanye or Pharell who can do the crossover stuff, but when he sticks to more of a traditional sample-based production that allows his lyrics to shine he is better than almost anyone else. Also, my best friends brother went to St. John's at the same time Cole did and says that he was just some normal dude at the time. To know that he was in a similar situation to me when he got recognized is crazy as f***.

Any Lil Ugly Mane fans? I've been spinning Mista Thug Isolation recently after not listening to it for a long time and it's still dope as shit IMO. Bitch, I'm morose and lugubrious.

LUM is dope, I was listening to Mista Thug Isolation yesterday actually. He just released the final Three Sided Tape actually, and he's been hinting that the final project was going to come out sometime soon.

What are your guys' thoughts on Forest Hills Drive? I hadn't listed to it in a while, but I had No Role Models on last night, I forgot how great that song was until now I have a love-hate relationship with Forest Hills Drive, and J. Cole in general, I guess. There are parts of FHD where I absolutely can see why this guy gets hyped up (Fire Squad and G.O.M.D. are the big highlights in this regard for me, you could also talk me into Apparently), because when he gets locked in, he can be fantastic. But after those tracks, I just completely tune out. From a personal perspective, it's like he flicked the on-switch for those two or three tracks, and then was content to turn it back off, and that's the one thing that'll always get me riled up musically-speaking. I really don't like Cole World, and I haven't heard enough of Born Sinner to make a judgement there, but as FHD goes for me, so does J. Cole, and I think FHD is mediocre. I don't know, something about J. Cole just doesn't click with me outside of a few songs.
