There was an episode of Tosh.0 where Daniel made some crack about stomping the crap out of someone "Horsemen style" then threw up the four fingers. He's done more than that. He once stated that Arn was like the greatest ever and a later episode, he called Arn out.

Rap group NWA named themselves after National Wrestling Alliance and Sex Pistols guy stole his name from Sid Vicious. Pop singer Brian Adams named himself after Crush. There you go.

MST3K would mention Verne Gange once in a while.
Also, I always thought The Smashing Pumpkins' song "Thirty Three" contained the lyric "Sabu's waiting on the table". I was wrong.

Scorpio Sky was on the first or one of the first episodes of Tosh.O
There was a mention of Joey Ryan, Tommy Dreamer and Joeys lollipop on TMZ.
There where a lot of wrestlers in an episode of The Munsters were Herman became a wrestler.
The "feud" involving WCW wrestlers on Battledome.
GLOW wrestlers on Married with Children when Al had to stay in the ring with Big Bad Momma.

I know that there's a character on Maron that's worn Joey Ryan's Legalize Sleaze shirt on the show before.

Malcolm In The Middle intro plays 1-2 seconds of the Bret Hart Vs Chris Benoit match from I believe the Owen Hart tribute match. A fantastic movie titled "Pay It Forward" has a kid in it who is a huge wrestling fan. In the film he's playing with wrestling figures, watching WCW Monday Nitro (In 2000!) and tries to get his mothers boyfriend to take him to a WCW show. He also has Buff Bagwell and Goldberg posters on his walls.
If we're talking actual news outlets and not just TV and movie there was an angle that Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair did in 2009 where Ric Flair beat the crap out of Hulk Hogan at a press conference advertising the Hulkamania Tour. This made the national news and if I recall correctly was treated as real (Although a bit of tongue in cheek as well).
TNA also made national news when video of their tryouts in Australia played on national news. Jeff Jarrett appeared on Rove Live and chased Rove McManus around the studio with a guitar trying to hit him with it. Some of the WWA guys appeared on national television here on the "NRL Footy Show". Pretty uneventful but Scott Steiner did lift up the host, press him above his head and toss him over a table and onto the floor (Probably a mat)
