What did you think of him in WWE?
Also, I was realy interested in asking about those reports from last year. There was like a month in 2014 when it was reported (and we had threads about them) that Shamrock was interested in returning to UFC, WWE and TNA. All these reports came like right after the other. Then nothing came of it lol.
I'd at least think he could have gone back to TNA if they wanted him. Also, I just looked up his MMA record and surprised how crappy it has gotten due to so many losses in the last decade (though he hasn't actually had an MMA fight since 2010). Those string of five losses just looks so bad. Well, at least two of those were against Tito Ortiz who is a renowned figter. But then in his last few fights he mostly fought no names and even some of those he didn't win.

Shamrock was awesome. Nobody has played an insane psycho quite as good as him and he wasn't bad in the ring either. Really wanted him to return to the WWE.

Someone I liked more as a kid. He was a great badass, but watching his stuff now I don't like his work that much. He's at his best in matches like his first big WWF match against Vader, where it's half a shoot and they're stiffing each other big time.

If you are familiar with the OSW Review shows, Ken Shamrock is one of "My boys". I absolutely loved the guy. I didn't have internet access back in '99 so I was devastated when he disappeared from WWF all of a sudden without a mention. Week after week I was eagerly anticipating his return

Week after week I was eagerly anticipating his return One thing that annoyed me about that is he left like literally when Kurt Angle first showed up. I remember they were both in the No Mercy video game on N64. I always thought that would have been a good match. I mean it technically could still happen, but now it would probably just be sad. In 1999 it could have been fun

One of the gooniest goons in WWE/F history. What more is there to say?

And the prospect of a fatal four way I Quit match between all four of them.

He's a guy that you think had a longer run than he did. Amazing that he was only around for about two and a half years.

And the prospect of a fatal four way I Quit match between all four of them. Shamrock/Benoit could have ben interesting. I never really thought about that one. You already know that Angle/Jericho happened (as you qualified your statement by saying, "a longer series"), but I just wanted to mention that in case someone tries to correct it. In speaking about that it's whacky how much Jericho glossed over that in his second memoir (I know it's promoted as an autobiography, but they're memoirs!). Jericho made Shamrock look like a bitch in his last televised match which really put Jericho over. Of course Jericho is never opposed to sacrificing the truth in favor of telling a good story (or what he thinks is a good story). Still, a fan of the books and Jericho himself, but just telling it as I see it

Yeah, it's nuts to think of how short lived some of these really memorable characters or angles lasted. Like the '97 Hart Foundation stable not even lasting a full year. Or Razor Ramon being a character for less than four year. Kofi Kingston has been an up and comer for about twice that long!

I used to love his random wig-outs and "DEEEEHHHHHHHHHH!"s, complete with how he'd slap himself in the face and how JR always bellowed, "SHAMROCK HAS SNAPPED AGAIN!"
I always wished Ross would mix it up some, like saying "SHAMROCK HAS SNAPPED ONCE MORE!" or "AGAIN...SHAMROCK HAS SNAPPED...again."

I know Angle always gets praised for this , but I think the speed which Shamrock adapted to pro-wrestling is criminally underrated.
I know he had a grounding in wrestling in his early days, but his transition from UFC to WWF was done with such ease.

I couldn't stand him when he first started in the WWF - the commentators kept going on and on about how this guy was the most dangerous man on the planet or whatever, when (as someone who had no knowledge or interest in MMA or whatever) he hadn't proven a damn thing in the WWF, it just pissed me off. Thinking about it, this may have been one of the early signs of me losing my mark-dom - I hated how much they were promoting the guy, I hated that they had Bret tap-out to him (Bret Hart did not tap to anyone ever, even when locked in the chicken-wing for hours at Survivor Series - if only I knew what was to come there...), and then the guy was facing the WWF champion in December having made his first appearance at WrestleMania as a damn referee. Basically I guess I looked at him as the Roman Reigns of 1997 I was delighted when he turned heel, as I therefore found myself on the same page as the WWF booking with him for once. I think it was this time that did more to win me over to Shamrock than any other, as when he turned face again a while later I was on board with him. By that time both he and the WWF's use of him had improved greatly, I was ready to accept him as a face and support him. Looking at him now, I remember him fondly. He was a guy who improved in the business throughout his tenure with the WWF, and he had the skills and work-rate to bring something to positive to the product at the time. I have no idea really what he has been doing since leaving the WWF, but I hope he's healthy and doing well.

I remember really not being able to buy him as "the most dangerous man on the planet" when the WWF had done NOTHING to actually show this. It all came off as all hype and likewise since I also had no interest in MMA at the time it didn't help to harp on all his credentials there when I had no reason to care about MMA or the UFC. Also, I marked at SummerSlam 1997 when Jerry Lawler said something like, "I bet if you called up [whoever first said Shamrock was the most dangerous man] they'd be saying The British Bulldog is the most dangerous man on the planet." Oh, 1997 when Lawler didn't suck on commentary and folks like The British Bulldog were still wrestling *swoons*.

I didn't realize this until I saw some of his matches recently, but the guy was built like a goddamn mac truck.
Also, fighting him in Wrestlemania 2000 is a pain in the ass.
